Are you mormon? My mormon boddies in Jr high and high school had that setup. We called them mormon-mobiles.
No, but my mom's family is from Florida, and my dad's live in Pennsylvania, so we would road trip between the two during the summer. I don't even remember how long we had that van, it's just in my memory.

Some of my fondest memories are as a kid learning to work on cars from my grandfather. Still remember being painted black with grease up to my shoulders it felt like when I did an engine replace/rebuild for the 66 Mustang I had my senior year in high school. Now cars are deliberately built to thwart reparability , even by the "pros". Modern vehicles are built with this idea that anything that would require rebuilding an engine, transmission, etc is just a module replacement of the whole engine/transmission/whatever. It's sad, and probably won't change in our lifetimes. Designed obsolescence is essential to keeping the recurring revenue model all businesses strive for afloat. They NEED you needing to buy a new car every 4-5 years, preferably every 2-3 years.

I have had a couple flare ups over time. It also runs in my family. It comes down to your bodies ability to filter and remove uric acid. If that builds up, and gets a chance, it crystalizes on bone structures and POOF gout. My doctors point at the fact that I have a lower than normal resting heart rate, combined with some kidney issues I have had. I get maybe one flare up a year. At least the treatment is pretty easy, at first sign take 2 of a little pill I have, then take 1 every 6 hours until gone. Almost always gone within 12-18 hours. For me it's always in my ankles.
I got an Onstar notification that my battery was low. I went to O'Reillys and asked could they replace my battery and the guy said no problem (figured it would be way cheaper than dealing with the car dealership). Then he throws in, you'll need to ride by and get them to flash your truck or you will keep getting an error message. Grr. WTF.

That said, fuck a carburetor, fuck points, fuck a timing belt. Fuck getting greasy. At one point in my life I thought I wanted to work on cars (or now be a car part replacer since there are no mechanics anymore) but I despise getting greasy. Even the horrid 'girls' Bubbles posts all greased up give me the skeeves.

I was reading the Politics thread just now. I thought of something important and profound to write. I said to myself “let me just finish this page and then I’ll post”. Well, fuck me, I forgot what I wanted to say. God damn it.
Bro if you are using the Brave browser it allows you to reply in split view, like I am doing now. You can say what you will, hit F5 and keep trucking.

I have one of these in my workshop, originally so I could do tiny details on miniature painting... But over time let's just say they have been used for a wider variety of things.....

Mine are a different brand, and apparently no longer manufactured, but they've been mighty useful.

Cool I just bought myself one , and used my wife's credit to boot so it was free. Wonder if she will notice? I do all the bills.

Can you wear these over regular glasses?
Not sure as I don't need glasses much. They are like blinders though , and at 20X your regular glasses would probably make things super out of focus. Nice bit of kit though. Real nice considering the price.

Probably depends on what exactly your glasses are correcting. My only eye problem is an astigmatism. I could probably wear them over my glasses. But if yours are correcting for far or near sightedness I bet it will be different. Off the top of my head, I would guess you should wear whatever glasses you need to see up close.

But those things look like torture devices to me. I feel like my third eye is being poked when I think about wearing them. So I won't be testing my theories.

speaking of glasses, I recently found this old pair I had laying around. They work great for us old guys with neck problems so we can still watch our wife give us a BJ.

I use Costco readers, leave a bunch around the house and car. I'm guessing I could get by without wearing glasses with it, but noticed you are only meant to use one lens at a time
