So, 2015 is almost over and all the last minute Oscar bait movies are out and most have screeners up too - if you wanna watch them and don't know how, you can go to the tech subforum and get an IPT invite there.
Whats your list of best of 2015? Here's mine, I'm a fairly mainstream guy and don't like weird/artsy movies
1. Mad Max Fury Road - if you disagree, cut your dick off
2. The Force Awakens - yeah, it had problems, but for 2 hours I felt like a little kid and that is priceless in my infirm, old age
3. The Martian
4. The Man from Uncle - totally unexpected and loved it, what a James Bond movie SHOULD be
5. Ex Machina - flawed, but I loved the premise and execution of what would AI be like
6. What we Do in the Shadows - technically 2014 worldwide I think, but good vampire spoof movie
7. Trainwreck - women can be funny!
8. Inside Out - not my favorite pixar movie, but it was pretty good
9. Spy - ok I generally despise Melissa McCarthy but this was funny
10. Mission Impossible Rogue Nation - not the best MI, but pretty good
11. Hateful Eight - not the best Tarantino, but I like westerns and this was a decent western
I probably missed a few and I haven't seen Compton, Sicario, Bridge of Spies, or pretty much any foreign / indie movie this year. Be happy to hear some recommendations.
Biggest disappointments:
1. Spectre - jesus christ how do you fuck up a James Bond movie so badly
2. Taken 3
3. Fantastic 4
4. Pixels - fuck you Adam Sandler for ruining a great idea
5. Terminator Genisys - goddamn it Arnold
6. Jupiter Ascending - ok the Wachowskis were 1 hit wonders
