What do you shoot with Drek? I'm too lazy to go back and see if you already mentioned it. I dig the 'low light' picture quality

Shooting with a D7000, most shots are with the prime lense, some with the 50 and the most recent ones with a 24-70 mm. The 24 is a full frame lens so I'm not optimizing it, a 70-200 and a D800 are just around the corner. Not sure which to buy first. The 70 is 2500 ish and the D800 is around 4K. I may go with the lens as I love shooting with my D7000. Thoughts?

can't go wrong with going for a lens first, assuming its complaint with your body that you already have as well. I really wanted a 5D but its just too expensive for somebody as casual as I am Full Frame cameras with a nice lens are so amazing

This is what I'm thinking, the lens will work on the D7000 but the D800 is almost the equivalent of buying 2 lenses. I will get the lens first then in a few months, once I save, buy the D800.

Can't go wrong with the trinity for Nikon, 14-24, 24-70 and 70-200. I have a D7100 and thinking of getting the 70-200 as my first f/2.8 lens. I was looking at the Nikon 85mm f/1.8 also. 1.3 the price of the 1.4. I have a 35mm f/1.8, 10-24mm and 18-200mm right now. I really love the lil 35mm and the 10-24mm.

I just got the D7100 and tore a tendon in my ankle and just got out of a cast/crutches and took my first image with it of the sunset I posted. now that I can get around somewhat I'm hopeing to get to shooting.

D7100 is a fantastic camera, looking forward to your shots.

and thanks...i don't know dick about cameras (other then auto focus can be a bitch) but you guys and others been telling me I have an eye for good shots.

the last few i have are from a local golf course area...i generally get much better shots with my camera than with my clubs.

edit:

a couple that i look today in a neighbor's backyard...unfortunately, most of the flowers were gone already and it was really bright, so i had to make due with what i had...me and my nephew in the two...as well as the above mentioned camera.
