Playing with the 70-200mm f2.8 lens. Caught my kitten playing in the kitchen. Auto ISO was on, these were at ISO6400 f2.8 @200mm, creamy background.

I really like the second image here. The old leaves and the bokeh.

I've alwayswantedto get into photography, but life and stuff has kept getting in the way.
I finally took a step, and bought a Fujifilm X-M1 with the pancake lens. Haven't had time to get any good shots yet, but here is a few from my testrun. This is an awesome camera - complete amateur, out-of-camera JPEGs

Some images of my first day out with new gear. Bought a Nikon D800E and the Nikon "Holy Trinity" - 14-24mm f/2.8, 24-70mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8. Also bought 85mm f/1.8 and 105mm f/2.8. Gotta spend bonus money on fun stuff, no matter what wife thinks.

The crop of the bee is a 1:1, all hand held, no VR. These were all with the 24-70mm which is kickass on a FX sensor - loving it so far.

Whoa (yours is much nicer)

A couple I took while walking around the art museum grounds here. Taken with my phone so they aren't anything special, mainly checking out the quality of the photos the phone could take. Quality went down the pooper in panoramic mode.

I like those HDR. I need to get out and try some more. Too much work and not enough photography here...much change....

HDR is a fun pain in the butt! I really want to use it more.

Snapped this pic up in my backyard. 400mm + x2 Teleconverter on a full frame 5D MkIII. Cropped and tweaked in Lightroom.

Nice moon shot. I'm gonna try and get to south side ABQ this weekend and try some Milkyway shots. I live on the North side and looking South is just a shit-ton of light pollution.

Nice stuff. You can clearly see the Andromeda galaxy in the last two.

Do you have any exposure information?

600 rule, divide 600 by your focal length and that is the max exposure so stars don't trail. So for these exposures at 14mm I could have gone about 42 sec but in manual mode my max exposure is 30" and I'm too lazy to get out my cable release. Also, the rule is "not" perfect I can zoom in on my images and see quite a bit of trailing.

Also set your aperture to wide open, this was a 14-24mm f/2.8 lens and its pretty sharp at 2.8 so I didn't stop down any. Some lenses you might stop down to say 3.5 or 4 to get the sharpest image it also reduces some coma from the cheaper lenses.

Then crank up the ISO, these images were at ISO 3200 on a full frame sensor (D800E) so there is little noise, on a crop sensor try 1600 or 2000 and you should get some great images.
