YT fucks around but most of the time this works:What do you guys use to download YT videos?
That's all I do. It doesn't work great. The algorithms definitely go off the rails sometimes. During the NFL championship games I saw a commercial for some stupid service where you get "custom" dog food delivered and I wanted to know what it cost just because it sounded ridiculous. I don't even have a dog right now and I would never buy this shit but I went to their website and of course they make you jump through a bunch of hoops before they will tell you the price. Then for the next week every third post on Facebook is an ad for this or some other stupid luxury dog food nonsense. I must have clicked "not interested" on 20 of them but they just kept coming. Then after a certain amount of time, it just stopped.if you don't use the "Not interested" and "Don't recommend channel" you can start using those, not sure there is much else you can do.
This is exactly what is happening.something else i have noticed, whenever they adjust the algorithm, i will see 2 big changes, bunch of vids with less than 100 views and super old shit, like 10+ years old appear on my home tab.
Can get the blocktube extension and set up some word filters. This is exactly what is happening.
I'm sure this was meant to help but wtf is that? I don't see where you download any of that. Am I supposed to somehow assemble that myself? I'm an electrician not a programmer. All I know of PC's is self taught.I continue to use the yt-dlp command line because it works on a bunch of sites beyond youtube.

For Github click the [<> Code] tab and Releases are listed on the right, but you probably want to scroll down that tab to the readme for installation instructions. Clarifies which file to download and other dependencies.I'm sure this was meant to help but wtf is that? I don't see where you download any of that. Am I supposed to somehow assemble that myself?
