Really? They should really sell that point harder since that makes me somewhat interested.

Don't assume you just get a nice mp4 somewhere to copy and do with as you please. Files you have to watch it through Youtube, you have to keep paying for Premium, and the device has to connect to the internet every 30(?) days or the videos won't work. Oh, and if the video you downloaded gets taken off Youtube for whatever reason, guess what happens to your download? (hint, not what you want)

Its nice for watching stuff on a plane or similar, but not to download and save forever.

I can't imagine why everyone isn't eager to pay for such wonderful features!
Interest successfully averted! Thank you good sir!

And all of that would be fine if google actually made the content. Nobody complains about not being able to download everything from Netflix, but Youtube, and really all of Google, is built on user created content. They deserve money for what they do of course, but they don't have to be fucking dicks about it.

It's kind of like when channels started putting out a lot of shorts because they said youtube wanted you to, to help with getting shown as a recommended channel. Now a lot (not all) of channels are full in on the AI talking and reading shit that they just googled. I don't watch them but a few I clicked on over the last year or two they mispronounce a lot of words including the main topic of the video.

Most channels I am subscribed to have really cut back in the videos they have been releasing over time. It's not because they got super rich the channels I watch aren't that busy. Anyway just not a lot of stuff I want to watch on youtube much anymore. And as mentioned before they recommended crap you get nowdays. I am up at odd hours and I've noticed if I look at youtube at like 3am google thinks what I really want to watch is videos in a foreign language I don't understand. Always in the middle of the night US time, and I mean all the ones I get recommended.

A lot of stuff is just stuff they recorded elsewhere and reposted to youtube. Like junk from news media shows and junk they downloaded from where ever that was a TV show decades ago.

yep right up there with the DVD/Blu-Ray era where you paid good $$ for the 'privilege' of watching a FBI warning and non-skippable video intros. Treat the people playing by the rules like criminals, that'll fix it.

Also FUCK youtube.

Not sure where to put this. Is there any way to control what is shown to you on YouTube? The last month or so I get shit I have ZERO interest constantly being thrown at me.

Don't recommend channel and clear out anything you don't want jammed down your throat removed from your watch history. I watched one dryer repair video and it took me months to figure out how to stop seeing appliance repair videos. YouTube really is dogshit.

if you know ahead of time you dont want topics showing up in your history(like dryer repair) you should be watching in a private window so you aren't logged in

Private window requires me to log in every single time and none of my adblockers work, it's not worth the effort.
