I'd be shocked if they can touch Firefox. They said the same shit a year ago, and there were 1 or 2 blips for everyone here then back to business as usual.

They'll need to redouble their efforts-- remaining skeptical based on their track record. The excuse last time for them not following through after their announcement was "it's regional rollout for testing" so not every region is affected.

I'm starting to believe they just can't fingerprint existing accounts that never re-log back in. That seemed to be a big trigger for FOH members here who had issues with Firefox last year. I never log in or out, never clear cashe or cookies, and I've never seen a disruption in blocking.

I think there is going to be a unified resistance against it. I could see this being a modern issue that brings people together to fight back (In a weird way).

This is just the last of manifest V2 being removed. Yes, it nerfs ad blockers, but it does not block them. uBlock Orign Lite is manifest v3 and while it isn't as good as the original, it gets the job done.

Still shitty, but the "OMFG! No more ad blockers on Crome!" is pure hyperbole.
They actually did me a favor by forcing me to use Brave. Not being logged into my account prevents me from posting comments, so I don't even look at them anymore.
