I'm not having any FPS issues, but I am getting some of the WORST shadowing artifacts I have seen in awhile. Currently running NVIDIA DLSS, but thinking of turning it off to see if that helps.

Bigger technical issue for me is all the pop-in and jittering cloth physics. I had to swap Hawks' trenchcoat with a normal shirt because the jittering was so distracting in cutscenes.

Yeah was watching a stream last night and he kept making a point of showcasing it. Every time there was a cut scene and the scene changed angles, all the assets reloaded so the popin was really noticeable.

Not far in at all, but I do like the combat. Dialogue seems good too. Tough I think you can abuse the bond system by extending combat in places where you can. Robot scans, taunter taunts a remainder of an encounter in an area that is hard / inaccessible to get to, AI gets borked and they just run around then proceed to use all AP several turns to throw stims around until you max out the bond between the characters for that mission.

The astromechs are really nice to doling out AP, probably replace my Jae w/ one of them. So much better about putting down overwatches at the end of my turn when i've got some free AP to give people.

game's fun, but omg never had a game having such a bad performance while have mid average graphic..... i mean even the cutscene start lagging out. the engine is either fking terrible or the programmer did an awful job or both. Can play mortal shell/crimson d esert stellar blade and max detail with no fps drop, and this shit is like slugging snail style.

Still i love xcom style and i love star war universe so well ill keep playing it.

Haven't had any of the performance issues but the combat turns get kind of annoying with the coils everytime you kill one and other various long animations. Sometimes the combat camera seems to just sit there while nothing is happening like its thinking. And also sometimes units will just slide into place without doing the their move animation.

Other then those things game is pretty stellar so far.

Game is solid. I can already tell it's going to need a Long War treatment. THAT game will be phenomenal. They've got most of the infrastructure they need, just have to tweak some dials and flesh out the systems.

4 squad member max is frustrating. I'm surprised it doesn't increase to 6 at some point in the campaign. Still quite fun, but man imagining what big fights with 8 squad members and 15-20 enemies would be like is pretty cool. Probably need to introduce fog of war again too at that point.

The Mandalorian Operative is sooo fun. I'm at the point now where it's a struggle to decide who I want to bring on a given mission. There's really only one Operative I don't like (Kabb)

Just started the game on ps5 pro. It’s really fun, but man it is rough with the constant texture pop in when the camera switches especially during cut scenes. Feels like the game is trying to freshly load clothing textures and stuff with every camera angle. I seem to get a lot of building pop in/out too when the camera pans around. Hopefully they patch and fix it soon. Is it like that on PC too?

The 4 man squad limit is my biggest complaint about the game - it really limits your ability to mix and match or experiment more. It becomes even more frustrating on missions where it has some arbitrarily short time limit to do an action while simultaneously tossing 15 enemies at you. I had to prevent a dark event and it is the one where you have to rescue an astromech in 5 turns, but enemy spawns at mission start are random. I found this out because I failed the mission like 3 times because I ran out of time to rescue the droid. Like one mission start it spawned like 6 coil dudes that all did the resonance thing, a super battle droid, an elite, some snipers, a sniper droid, and like 6 battle droids. All the cover is made out of tissue paper and literally the only way to reach the droid in time is being really aggressive with moving your units up the left side of the map.

Then when you do get the droid and kill the elite, it spawns the evac at the back of the map behind multiple reinforcing waves that keep spawning. And the droid can't die also or instant fail. Rage over lol

Its not bad so far, I am hoping the mission types open up at some point, as so far all they have been is.

Fight through enemies to reach objective
Save/Interact with objective
Extract through respawning enemies

Now I know X-com did not have a bunch of different mission types either but not all of them followed that formula with some just being to reach an objective, disarm something, save someone, or clear a map.

Additional, the devs also openly taunt you.

This game could do that easily - I've noticed it's version of dark events are permanent and usually you can only prevent 1 at any given time from going into effect

Like my options were coil units all get grenades or melee hits build resonance. Grenades was the easy choice to get rid of since that would be a nightmare, but I've skipped on 2 melee buffs in a row (all melee units shock and now they do that resonance shit if they hit you), so I imagine down the line melee units are going to become a big threat.

One thing that would be nice would being able to recon missions ahead of time so you know layout and rough enemy comp. Some setups where you can use environment kills are super powerful while being complete duds without said environment kills, some setups favor aoe clear, etc etc, good against droidekas, good against coil. Just tons of prep you could do if you knew what you were getting into.

Almost like the RNG is selecting your setup before you go. Although tbf I haven't run into a mission that couldn't be won due to setup so far.

Right now rocking 2 snipers with overwatch talents, the mando, a couple scouts to farm adv and just use mando going around doing tons of damage. 4th slot is flex but ususally run jai for execute but really anyone could work here. Honestly might just put another overwatch character here, like make trick soldier/scout and have him clear aoe.

Grenades can be moved away from, shock isn't that big a deal and there's that utility item that makes you immune. Resonance is a pain in the ass when they get things like retaliation and full heals. Plus the stupidly long animations...
