Venom (2018)

Looks like they were going for the vague horror movie trailer vibe.

It's a teaser you nerds.

You think they'll run it in front of Black Panther? If so, how much do you think it will stand out, from even just the other comic book movies that will run trailers alongside it? It doesn't have enough punch.

Showing one second of the rendered Venom >>>> whatever the fuck that teaser was. Sony pictures showing why they are a massively failing division, incoming worse than Amazing Spiderman 2.

Well....Sony really knows how to get people NOT excited.

I didn't like the scene with the flipping vehicles as he drives straight down the lane.

I didn't like the head shaking scream gag

Also, were there several scenes of telekinesis?

Yeah. It's so hard to wait to show a trailer until its done.

Before a movie goes into production, at least on the big budget affairs, they coordinate between the ones making the decisions about how the movie will be marketed and the producers so they can schedule to shoot all of the kinds of scenes that will be used in the trailers first, especially the shots that will need a lot of CGI.

Venom wrapped production couple of weeks ago and well, we see what we got. Compare that to the very first Doctor Strange teaser trailer which they dropped a week after primary wrapped.



If they don't have enough CGI finished to have shown him even briefly it's because they probably didn't intend to at this point either way.

I didn't expect Venom to be shown in the first teaser, but I also didn't expect it to be completely uninteresting. That was about as generic a series of trailer shots as could be strung together.

Only way this could be better is if I wasn't too lazy to replace Ian Malcolm with Grandmaster.

If Carnage doesn't show up in this or the sequel, I'll be mad. Then again I'd rather they just made a Maximum Carnage movie with Spiderman in it after they do the whole backstory movie thing here ala Batman Begins.

The way that teaser plays out, it seems almost as if the plan is to inject the symbiote into a dead guy after which he goes insane from it. Intrigued to see an official trailer
