I think the global box office totals will be just a bit lower than they might otherwise be. Why? There are some members of what should be the core audience who wont see this because they feel they fell too far behind with the movies. One of my best friends missed Dr Strange, Black Panther, and Thor Ragnarok and doesn't want to watch this until he catches up.
Dr. Strange was out 2 years ago. He hasn't watched a fucking movie in 2 years? He could rent Dr Strange & Thor and do them both in an afternoon. Then go see Panther in theaters (still there out here at least). Lazy friend is lazy.

In the movie, he mentions that Gamora's homeworld was on the brink of extinction due to overpopulation, and that since his intervention and subsequent half-genocide, it's a paradise where people have all they need.

If you consider Thanos is speaking the truth at this time, it means that after his genocide, Gamora's people figured they needed to take measures to prevent their population from growing too much or else Thanos would return.

Here he does it to every world simultaneously in the universe without going himself, but his reasoning is that once every world has felt the impact of losing 50% of the population, they're going to take measures to prevent it from happening again (better ressource management, control of rampant birth rates, etc...). Of course that's only if the populations are aware of WHY it happened, but I assume Thanos could just conjure a microphone out of thin air at this point and speak to the universe to let them know his way of thinking.

Doesn't make him not a murderous wacko though, he's definitely not a "good guy", not even a anti-hero. He's a raving lunatic that BELIEVES with all his faith that he's doing what needs to be done, and it's this absolute conviction that makes him sympathetic because he feels like he has to do it, and hates that he has to sacrifice everything for it but it just must be done.
So I gotta wonder. The populations that Thanos had already halved earlier on... were they also effected by the gloved snap? IE - They're now quartered populations?

Thanos is a bully.

It's interesting what he will do next.

Is he keeping the gauntlet to maintain his version of order by snapping his fingers once every 50 years?
A few people have said that the gauntlet appears to have burned itself out. So he has the stones, but he hasn't got a full-on power gauntlet. Not anymore. The only one who has a gauntlet (without stones) is Eitri. (so yes, more Dinklage in Avengers 4).

Wild speculation: we don't have Star Lord anymore, who was the only one capable of weilding stones. So I think we need another cosmic hero...ine.

At this point Gamora is dead. At least while Thanos is in possession of the Soul Stone. This is all just theory of course from here out. I think that the next person that uses the Gauntlet or Soul Stone will have to make a sacrifice. That person could, with the whole gauntlet, bring her back. However their sacrifice would be trapped. This basically all points to someone having to be sacrificed in the next movie. Heimdal and Loki are dead. However, they could be brought back by the gauntlet still. Basically everyone could be brought back except for that final sacrifice, if the Gauntlet bearer chose to do it.
The Gauntlet was pretty banged up looking right after it was used with all six. I got the impression they were going to need a new device to be able to undo the universal scouring.

Well, Dinklage had a beta gauntlet. I'm sure they could use that, at least on a temporary basis.

So how come Dr. Strange, Iron Man, and Spider Man had such a hard time in the first Black Order fight, Vision and Scarlet Witch got their asses kicked after that, but then fuckin' Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon are able to stroll on and one hit KO one with zero Infinity Stones and barely any superpowers between them? Power level gripe I know, but not even being consistent t within this single movie bugged me.
It seemed to me like that was just Ebony Maw being more powerful than the other three, he was the only one Thanos even mentions and feels as a loss to him. However even Ebony Maw was killed very easily once he was taken by surprise.

Best be some Hulk payoff, even Rodgers could hold back the powered up gauntlet, Hulk just crys and hides inside Banner.

I'm guessing either Adam Warlock or Captain Marvel. Probably more Adam Warlock than her since he already once wielded all the Infinity gems in the comic universe. He's a very important character in the Infinity War series and I can't see them not including him in it.

They've already stated multiple time we won't get Warlock until GotG3, so he's out for Avengers 4.

The new trend of every single movie theater in town being the kind where you have to pre reserve your seating can fuck right off. I despise that shit.

Is this happening all over the US? It seems Cinemark converted all of their theaters to this bullshit.

Most of them have converted to this in my area.

Less overall seats
reclining with 4 feet of foot area
reserved in advance, like at a stadium.

I like it personally, no need to go early and fight a crowd.

I love it. How can anyone hate it

Movie was great. I wasn't planning to see it in theaters mainly because I have a bunch of movies to catch up on, but I was able to follow along easily enough. Makes me want to see Dr Strange now. That guy was badass in this

Great movie, the next one better see some real deaths, because right now I'm just waiting for a retcon.

As far as I'm concerned no one died in this movie. Especially since the two brutal deaths were for the race that comes back over and over again in the comics.

I will say, that scene where Thor, Groot and Rocket landed for the fight...holy fuck, that was the most heebeejeebees I've gotten in a movie, maybe ever (I'm 36 for a reference point).

Oh and how can you not like reserved seats? Do you not own a cell phone? Were you trying to buy for a Saturday showing opening weekend and hoping by showing up early you could beat all the people who bought tickets weeks in advance and get a good seat? C'mon man.

My gripe is that it's always been easy for me to get there like 5 minutes before a showing in this part of town and I've never once ever had a problem getting seats. The reserved seats have like 1/3 the amount of seats the old configuration did.

So now I can't just arrive 5 minutes prior and have no problem getting in. Shit is sold out via reserve for two weeks.

Dinklage's "don't care a shit" brow fits Tyrion, so he nails the role. The problem is that he can't do anything else, so he's been meh in pretty much every movie ever.

Yeah Dinklage was the worst character in the movie, worse than the three Black Order characters that make it to the final battle.

Dinklage pretty clearly doesn't enjoy being a nerd cult icon and phones it in every damn time. Tyrion has made his career, but look at all his roles before Game of Thrones. He was pretty adamant about taking on "serious" films and avoiding typecasting due to his size.

Honestly, it seems a lot of actors are getting tired of the fact that they have to play superheroes to make the big bucks. Scifi and fantasy are completely unavoidable these days if you want to trade a night job at Starbucks for a job that actually pays.
