nobody cares about whatever dead end you can drag up, none of it is comparable

Oh I would say it is since 100% of the bullshit they hype has never come to fruition in the real world of gaming aside from their flashy demos, and then forgotten faster than the next year's bandwagon feature which falls promptly on it's ass as well.

A pre rendered cutscene with voodoo magic deep learning under the hood.

You don’t know how that’s been tweaked or how many cycle hours they spent to get the pre rendered cutscene to look better. They could have had 3,000 GPU’s working on it for a month to get that doubled frame rate.

Also I bet dollars to donuts that this requires an internet connection at all times to take advantage of it.

Lol.

And...

And...

(Insert some new gimmick that demos well that will never make it to reality)

stop mentioning hairworks which is not a performance boosting thing, you can do that with ray tracing kind of not really but spamming that shit is annoying and dumb, plz stop.

what? no all the ai is in the gpu, have people taken crazy pills or something?

No. You are blindly trusting a company which has proven exactly time and time again (Especially in the last 8 weeks) with a proven track record of why they cannot be trusted before that with other "Features" and thinking they aren't doing it this time for whatever reason you conjure up in your head.

So, it has the potential (according to an tailored Nvidia showcase at a press event) to double the frame rates of another type of AA, not "double framerate of past gen". This sort of discrepancy already exists within various AA formats and it's pretty irrelevant for anyone that doesn't need AA, like 4k users or many 1440p users.

I'm all up for new tech and new options, but I think you're overselling it a bit.

Speaking of Intel, for those who like old games on GoG, or not so graphically intensive indy games, just how far can you get with, say, a laptop with a built in Intel gpu? Asking for a (broke) friend...

I get it paranoid man, go ted kyzynski somewhere else, I need a new gpu and will just wait for rtx price to drop a few hundred which will happen when they clear out some of their 10 series backlog that they hoisted on aib's, you can keep your last gen shit and be happy I don't give a fuck.

Older games on GoG (Depending on how old you are talking about here) never used GPU's and were heavily CPU dependent. So it really all depends. Legacy games such as Eye of the Beholder, Betrayal at Krondor, Gold Box Series D&D, etc - even the earliest WIng Commander, Ultima Underworld/Origin titles didn't have that power to compute from. (Hell we spent most of the time trying to squeeze out additional conventional memory out of memmaker just to run those games) so you should be fine if you are talking 90's era games.

You're calling out other people for spamming? You're here shilling even harder than the websites who signed Nvidia's NDAs and agreed to their review demands.

I don't trust a single fucking thing anyone but HardOCP says about their shit.

The hard part with some of those old ass games won't be that you don't have a GPU, it'll be that your hardware architecture is fundamentally different, and there might be exactly zero information from either retired/dead devs or a dead community on how to get it to work.

Running stuff like say:
Ultima™ 4: Quest of the Avatar

Is probably trivial or has a community to support it. But a game like say:
Enchantasy

If it doesn't just work in dos box or whatever, you've got a few options but if they don't work, good luck.

If you have a list of games, I can help :)

Not only that, the CEO said it would be a long time before the announcement of the new cards for people on the fence of waiting for a new card or buying a 1080/1080ti. 8 weeks later they have an entire presentation of the new cards with months of marketing work. So this ass KNEW full front and center what he was doing.

I hope they continue to get exposed, and I hope they get a nice chunk bit out of their asses.

Well, Hardocp has been slapping them around a bit the last year or so. If they should be worried about anyone, it's them.

They are well respected and will tell it how it is, I await their reviews even if it's post launch.

Yeah, they've been great for many moons. Shame their forums are full of some of the most toxic brand-fanboys on the web though
