For whatever reason, Google is releasing multiple different messaging apps, Allo, Duo, Hangouts, Messenger. I don't understand their need to fracture the apps, just make one app for everything.

Android Nougat is rumored to have a release date of August 5th. I've been using the beta on my nexus phone for months now and its pretty slick. Battery life is pretty good on it. My only complaint is with hangouts and Google's decision to unmerge sms and hangout conversations.
