I know some antivaxers. This one couple in particular are fucking brilliant. They believe in "non-schooling." I don't remember the official term, but they don't send their kids to school, but provide "rich environments full of learning." Their ten year old can't really read. And they are self...

Going to a superbowl party tomorrow. Shrug. I didn't even know who was in it for sure because I don't follow the NFL at all. Someone asked me to bring the same ribs I brought last time they hosted, which was, I think, five years ago. So, Gordon Ramsay sticky ribs it is. They're really good.

Can someone explain why Anderson wasn't in net for Toronto tonight? I mean, they squeaked out a win, but why put in your second stringer against the Penguins? Toronto moved the puck really well in the offensive zone. Fun to watch that first line.

Man, my kids have had snow days for the last three days. Tomorrow is a 2 hour delay with the potential of cancellation again. If they cancel again tomorrow we will have all been home together with only minor interruptions since Monday night, and going in to the weekend there will be more time...

Yeah, you're right. It baffles me that it's cheaper to buy produce that has been grown, harvested, chopped, frozen, and then sold. WTF is wrong with us?

I'd bust it through to the plumbing so you can do a 90 degree to the existing plumbing, but that might work.

While you are correct that if all you are looking for is price, the taste difference between fresh, canned and frozen is huge. If you can find a way to eat both fresh AND cheaply, that'd be fantastic. Some of us are hoping for that.

I have a good friend who had a vasectomy reversed after he got married a second time. He and his wife had three kids in very short order, and then he got fixed again. He said it was "no big deal." If you want another, go for it!

So I have many friends who live in major city centres. Toronto, Chicago, Montreal, Los Angeles, blah blah blah. Every one of them who is interested in home garden has found a Unity Garden or similar at a church, mosque, or community centre. It's free in most cases, too. Now if everyone in the...

I have three knives that I use on the regular. 10 inch chef knife from Henckels, which is about 20 years old, has a wood grip, and is awesome. A Wusthof serrated knife for bread and such. And a cheap ass paring knife which I replace about every 7 or 8 months because I haven't found a good one in...

Brand name windows will always last longer. Pella is a good brand, and a decent company to work with. My house was built in 1977 with casement windows. Marriage and the Power of Divorce

There is a lot of uncomfortable truth in this. We have a couple that are pretty close friends. They have kids, they're nearly fifty, and he's very obese. He gets sweaty going up a flight of stairs. He's just plain out of shape, and he's doing nothing about it. His father died at 55, his mother...

Okay, so the home gas range I have has one burner that's quite large for super fast heat. Boiling water? Takes no time. Today I am staying at a friends house. Made some boiled eggs. I understand the opposite is true. Electric ovens are far more consistent in their temperatures, and gas stove tops, even the residential grade, far out perform electric in speed and efficiency. I don't know about high heat cooking, what do you mean by that exactly?
