Most screwed up thing your parent/bro/sis/gf/bf has told you?

Here's the bad/good story for you. My dad used to beat the hell out of us. He was a complete fucking bastard. Worst father ever. He told me I'm too stupid to go to college. I was the fourth child, he told me he wished they had 3 kids. It culminated in an exchange when I was 14, big...

Not to be contrary, but this is exactly wrong. Disposable diapers wick the fluid away from skin much more quickly, and lock it away. We used cloth, and if our children developed a rash, we'd use disposable diapers for a couple of days, and it went away. Also, I've never been peed or pooped...

    Buying a Hot Tub?

Check out Softub. They're bloody amazing. They need no special wiring, can be plugged into a standard outlet, and add very little to your electricity bill monthly. They're the best thing out there. You can relocate it simply, only takes a day to fully heat up, and blah blah blah. Just check...

Try white pepper? And cook rice dishes. I was once cooking for someone who had an ulcer, and every time it was a rice dish, almost regardless what else was served, it went down right. Not sure if that's a thing, but it worked for us.

I find Velveeta just gross. Sorry if that offends you. It has a terrible texture, a terrible colour, and I simply don't like the taste. I don't understand why anyone would substitute that for a real cheese in any instance.

We used cloth diapers, and they had a bag that was smell proof for the loaded diapers. Some folk get these bags for disposable diapers, too. The bags are cheap, and easy to wash. I have friends that put a garbage bag inside an empty cat litter bucket that closes tight as tupperware. No...

Proven fact: the better spiced your cast iron, the larger your penis. I'm with you on this, actually. I've never cooked with it, though I'm interested in getting something now. All advice will be appreciated. I have to make chili tomorrow. Can me meaty, or veg. Let's hear your best...

Something we've certainly thought about, but the issue is that he's so small. He's the smallest in his class by a lot. Putting him ahead a year would make him the smallest by a stinking pantload. That's certainly not the end of the world, but I think we're going to see how things go through...

Girlfriend wants to move in, how much should she pay?

Pretty sure that's a spam thing. Certainly reads similarly to a few emails I've had. Neg internets for that crap, I'd say.

Sigh. My son's school has a behaviour chart - it's a pretty good system, I think. Everyone starts the day on green, if they misbehave, they move down, but if they make good decisions they can move up again. He hasn't remained on green or higher for more than a week. He's not being a bad boy...

Meh, your time and money would be better spent insulating the exterior wall of your basement so that your home is warm from the bottom up.

This is so true. I am handy, so my friends say, "Hey, I want to add a plug here. That'd be easy, right?" It's on a cement block wall. duh. Also, as far as suspended ceilings go, a friend of mine is about to do one in his basement. He is going with this system: http://www.ceilinglink.com/...

This is a great post. With floor squeaks, you're mostly just going to have to live with them. There are things you can do to reduce them, for a while. Sorry 'bout that.

We started solid food around four months, but breast fed some until a year. The solid food we did was just puree of fruits and veg. I'd cook up and puree things like pumpkin or peas, then freeze them in ice cube trays. Nice serving sizes, ready to go. Those things thaw very quickly, too...

Screw all you pussies. My son was eating steak and smoking cigars at 2 months old. That's what men do. On a serious note, have the conversation with them. Don't be a pushover on things that you think have serious potential repercussions on your child's health. Solids at that young an...
