@Ceythos: good to hear man, I putz around on their server from time to time just to look at the world as thats all you can really do atm. Still is really cool how far they have come considering it is all volunteer staff. Truly is a labor of love for those guys.

^ Agreed! In my over all time of playing VG from Beta to present, i too never really had the problems others reported. I never had top of the line machines either but I did use to treat reloading my comp like an oil change and do that every 3-6 months to keep it running as smooth as possible.

Fair enough, so I guess during that time VG was in maintanence mode, SOE did not do any back end changes? Also the only backend system I could see where this would cause problems is how the SOE accounts interface with the various games to collect a sub or whatever. Basically what you are saying...

They already said it's not gonna happen. Mostly because the UR2 engine costs royalties and so since SOE still owns the IP, they would be responsible for those royalities even if they made the game open source. Which raises another theory. I wonder if VG had been designed in another engine, one...
