    The Elder Scrolls Online

Agree; its still a mediocre linear quest-fest type of game from what I can tell. Its a shame the world-designers really did a terrific job building a very large and beautiful world but its hamstrung by mediocre gameplay with little to no Elderscrollsy sandbox elements.

Yeah its been said, but the itemization really blows. I don't see there being enough time to go through and readjust the loot tables before release.

The client itself has run very smoothly for me even at Ultra-high settings. Aside from the wonky animations, I think the game looks great, and I'm actually impressed with how, at least on the rendering side of things, its been performing.

Game to me plays better in First Person. Third person just amplifies the combat animation's wonkiness. And I wonder how that'll play out in groups. When's the first dungeon?

Okay gonna try to respect the NDA here.. So far its not all bad; actually there's a few things I'm quite liking so far, and it has its merits. But holy hell the bugs. I can't go literally 5 minutes without a game-breaking bug. Then, to top it off my OS ground to a halt.. why? Game vomited up a...

Well, first experiences so far: Tooled around in character creation, checked out the orc, khajit and argonian.. all human bodies with an alien head stuck on top /sigh. Tried to create a character, server didn't respond. Hit 'create' a couple more times, game threw me out with an error code...

Well I didn't pledge anything and I won't. I just don't do Kickstarters, period, and even if I did, I would not contribute to this clusterfuck of a KS. However, should VR succeed in their endeavors and release a solid product, I will definitely buy a copy and sub if its any good. I'd love to see...

The Austin area aka Silicon Hills in Texas would be a smart choice to build a startup. Plenty of local talent to draw from, very friendly to business, a great tech industry including google fiber in its future, and a great standard of living at a low cost.

I also enjoyed Rift's Open-Grouping system. You could either enable or disable it and it made it very easy to group up with others while out adventuring, especially for Rift's. It allowed us to properly tank and heal when needed, and it lead to creating new private groups for rifts and dungeons...

Well I think there is opportunity to yet improve upon the Looking For Group tool. I'd love the ability to "thumbs-up / down" a player, write a small note "great tank!", "lousy healer but good dps", etc. Have the tool start building metrics about how you interact with other players which could...

I'm of the opinion that this game should embrace its nicheness and not implement a ton of fast-travel and porting. So I favor open-world above all. 5-10 minutes of "world travel" isn't much.. everybody should have to travel to the instance every time, not just the first time. Travel to the...

Design issues aside, Rift launched super polished, didn't overextend itself, and was delayed to make this so. Just an exception I thought worth pointing out.

In my opinion, not a chance. If they come up with a Hartsman and give him the authority to rule with an iron fist I'd say its possible, though.

You can't put screenshots when you have literally nothing to show. Some screens of stock Unity footage thrown together in under an hour is just insulting. If I were trying to sell a Kickstarter for something purely in the idea stage, you'd bet I'd have tons of concept art though. Well, that and...

I'm not sure that's a good idea if they actually want backers. If I came to this stream curious about backing this project, my wallet would be welded shut by this point. I really don't get this stream. Its really unprofessional and pointless. I get it they are in the planning stage, but they're...

I remember Curt's insistence back on the old boards that his game world was so unique it didn't even have humans... when it turned out ofc that it did they were just different human cultures with names like Almain instead of, literally, the word "human".

Good point, and you are correct. They were unable to flesh out the entire game with them as they ran out of time and money. So for those who were bothered by that I stand corrected, it wasn't only completionists who got affected. But as to why one would complain about all the side-quests when...

While I agree that Reckoning had far too many MMO style side-quests, they were all completely voluntary. Only the main quest line was required to advance. In fact, even if a quest took you to a dungeon, you didn't have to pick it up in order to do the dungeon. You could simply explore, find the...

That's the problem with any kind of open world pvp in general. Either you tightly control your pvp instance in arenas and battlegrounds or expect your pvp to be a meaningless zerg fest. All the methods devs have used to control open world pvp- spread objectives, calculated spawn points, etc. are...

In my experience, these kind of fatties do little to nothing in the gym, hop on a treadmill or bike for <5 minutes, and peddle so lethargically that you wonder why they're there at all. That is until you notice them either texting or talking on the phone while "exercising" or blabbling it up...
