Try to separate the actors from the show. Otherwise you'll just be miserable. I mentioned this in some other thread, but you'd basically have to stop watching any tv or movies and stop listening to almost all music. It's infected everything. Those bands you love from the 70s through 90s? Yeah...

New movies that dont deserve their own thread.

Maybe late to this one as there's a couple pages since this post, but horror movies are like the one, single profitable movie genre without a doubt. They absolutely crush it.

Monsters and Memories (Project_N) - Old School Indie MMO

Shit, I played Shadows of Yserbius long before EQ came out, and then NWN on AOL. I'd been doing MMOs for years. I was blown away by EQ. That and Quake 3 were game changers for me.

    The Penguin

I for one am excited for the 18th cinematic retelling of the Batman origin story.

A Song of Ice and Fire (Released Spoilers)

The frustrating part being that Winds won't be concluding the story or anything. There's literally zero chance he ever writes the final book.

That rebalancing will also force massive price hikes on Nvidia, and potentially crush Apple? I mean, the many, many indexes won't all rebalance at once, but they all will eventually.

We're all bigots. Except the faggots like Zweishneid who suck as much DEI cock as they'll shovel down his throat.

    Furiosa (2024)

Just giving consumers even less reason to go to the movies. People remember stuff like this.

It's defending wokeism by downplaying it. It's actually good, you're just a bigot.

Are you fucking kidding me that the markets are closed today? I know this isn't the thread for it, but that's ridiculous. When the only holidays it used to be closed for were like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Memorial, and Labor Day, this just sounds insane to me.

I'm curious about relying on things like the 200 day, and how they fared in years we've had 20-35% gains. Especially, like I mentioned before, periods like the 80s, late 90s, and post great recession. Seems like it likely didn't matter then and the markets sustained rallies over several years.

Unless you're selling, you're not taking a loss. Index funds work best if you just ignore them. Also, that's something conventional wisdom ignores for even regular retirees. It's not like you liquidate everything when you turn 65. If you expect to live another 20-30 years, you probably need to...

    The Acolyte

Honestly, if you wanted to really tank this show, it seems like you could really lean into the whole thing and call it out for only using "women" and lesbians, and that it's 2024 and that's very narrow minded when there are 900 genders and just as many sexualities. That they're so non-inclusive...

Market has blown past my end of year prediction. That's not to say it can't or won't drop back down. Wondering if we get another late 1990s run. That'd be pretty sweet.

I've been watching/rewatching lots of these shows over the last several years. The Office, Parks & Rec, Everybody Loves Raymond, How I Met Your Mother, Friends, Seinfeld, etc. And yeah, haven't watched this one in a long, long time. Might be next up. And I'm at the point where I don't care about...

I'm old school. I use an excel spreadsheet. We've changed to quarterly, but we basically just log into the accounts and check. We did monthly from 2018 until we retired. Annually before that from the time we started aggressively saving for early retirement.

I don't watch Star Wars shows. Or actually, I guess Star Wars anything. But this showed up on my recommended because it's Drinker. Didn't even realize this thread was a Star Wars thread, but holy shit. This sounds hilariously bad. I can't believe anyone watches this drivel.

Downloaded the first season of this whenever it premiered and still haven't gotten around to watching it. Guess I'll start downloading season 2 for no good reason.

Man, that Pump Up the Jams video is wild. I don't really remember it.

Clicked that and thought it was going to be this much, much better song about Girls and Boys. Or this one, which is actually the best of the 3.

God damn that's a lot of water for a non-tropical storm. Guess my insurance is going to go up again! (just kidding, we got a letter last month that they're dropping us completely, so we need to find a new insurance company)

Was going to ask why the market was up so much today. It'd be one thing to get a big swing like this when the market has been trading in a smaller band, but we're already up a ton.

That's gotta be a real kick in the dick for the Furiosa people. It's just shy of $150 million worldwide over almost 3 weeks.

I agree with all that, but I'm not sure I'd revisit this one ever. Just thinking about having to do all that shit on my account again sounds like AIDS. It was definitely fun for the time I played it though.

I don't know why this always comes up on this board. Happened a lot with Diablo IV and Starfield where I said I'm not paying $80 to play that piece of shit. "wHy ArE yOu So BrOkE?!" I'm not broke because I don't spend my money on stupid shit like a subscription to a 25 year old game. The...

I was just looking for something to kill some time, and a trip down nostalgia lane sounded appealing. I could load up Lost Ark or New World and save myself $15, and not play a game that looks like absolute dog shit.

Theater Chain Death Watch? Chapter 11s inc

Yeah, the whole thing really needs to separate theaters from movies. They're two connected businesses, but one of them needs the other to survive and the movie making business kind of doesn't need theaters anymore. They've obviously run the numbers and think they'll make more money by throwing...

I know we have a crypto thread, but I feel like every year this one comes up and I always laugh. The bitcoin people will always talk about the reasons crypto is viable as an actual currency and store of value, and then everything always comes back to using it as a way to make money.
