EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

Is this another Rapiers recruitment post? Antisocial cunts need not apply, only ballers who want to have fun AND make 1200 a month?

They could mostly prevent boxing via code if they had the talent - which they very clearly don't. But I think it would be cheaper to just do some Rudy Giuliani stop and frisk on truebox servers. Oh well neither are likely.

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

I have always wondered that too. On the surface it seems like it would be a loss for DBG if someone bought krono on the aftermarket vs. either paying them a sub or buying krono from them. However, if I were to buy it aftermarket and consume it for a sub, it does remove the liability from their...

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

There are however lots of people that buy krono "aftermarket". I know I definitely feel a little bit like a sucker paying 14.99 for my sub when I could buy a krono from one of the resident lords and save myself $5-$7 a month. Not to mention if I actually wanted to twink a toon and sell my own...

On Mischief everyone buys pixels (for plat) since it's random loot. Sell what you don't need buy what you do (for plat). People buy krono because farmers sell it for half what DPG does. All pretty simple.

My instinct is that people count Krono earned as money earned, but to me sittin on 12000 krono is not that same as sittin on 120k USD. However, if they are selling toons as well, who knows.

I hear you. But I'm more of a kill the cartel, not the drug addicts type of guy. Well, I'm actually kind of a kill them both type of guy.

You are right and the benevolent kronolords and boxers should teach the 1-2 box peasants a lesson and all quit EQ at once and just let the world (of Norrath) burn man.

Watch out DPG we got us a server code expert (not me) over here! You are also still saying the same thing as me.... This exchange is really quite funny. We are like aggressively agreeing with each other lol.
  11. alavaz

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

How is it nonsenical lol.... If anything you just agreed with me. If they implement "relaxed box" and don't put a limit inside of code (the code which is referred to as truebox) then people will just box armies. Like why was that so hard to understand when I said it the first time? Yall...

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

It's not supposed to "prevent" boxing. It's supposed to (and does) limit it. Yeah people cheat, but I've played on pretty much every TLP in varying capacities and the LJ and previous experiences were night and day compared to post truebox code. I don't believe for a second that a server without...

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

Well the argument got a little shifted though. Everyone's autism keyed in on me saying that truebox prevents people from playing more than 1 account on 1 PC and they started screeching. I actually still largely stand by that statement though I do understand that VMs, parsec, steam remote, etc...

MQ2 is an entirely separate topic. I was never intending to start a technical debate nor do I consider MQ2 something that is A. that accessible and B. worth the risk of scaling to army size. I sure haven't seen it. Yeah so his little "app" that he's clicking that fakes the hardware IDs would...

  16. alavaz

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

It's very possible, and while yes I walked into this by using the term "PC" I wasn't doing some move the goal post thing. A VM is a different Operating system with it's own hostname and hardware IDs. You aren't "bypassing" truebox you are using another box. However that's not important. My...

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

Prove it to me bro. Let me see it, let's put it to rest. Show me them 54 boxers using VMs and shit. Yall could win this for real. Just get that proof.

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

I don't know about "incredibly" easy, but that also doesn't really refute my point. You aren't launching more than 1 instance of EQ from the same PC. I've also seen the guy who had like 18 garage sale PCs, monitors, numpads and a wooden dowel contraption to mechanically control it all.
  19. alavaz

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

Lol you've done everything but ignore me. Prove it though. Let me see your screenies of multiple instances of EQ running on the same PC with isboxer going on a truebox server. Otherwise I straight up don't believe you. Doesn't have to be Armpitburner either, any of you who claim that you can...

No, I just assumed that it was obvious and you were being a obstinate shithead about it. I'll bet you've never gotten a speeding ticket cause you just roll into court and tell them that there shouldn't even be speed limits cause like everybody just goes faster than them anyway. Gosh. People...

Dang VLC is the absolute best media player. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the others out there used libvlc under the hood anyway. You can skin it if that's your issue with it - VLC media player - Skins - VideoLAN.

    Job Hunting

It seems these days that it's more in fashion to give your boss a heads up when you want to leave - which definitely was not the case when I first started working. There's a dude I work with who's not only told everyone he was looking twice in the last 3 years, but also has gotten 2 offers, put...

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

You actually used the term "box armies" and I actually used the term "more than a full group." It's pretty simple and I think most people have the attitude that I do. It's not that I care if people box more than 6, I don't hate them and I don't think it's cheating. It just doesn't appeal to me...
  25. alavaz

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

Are you saying that any "truebox" server has had the amount of box armies as LJ/RF? Cause I can without a doubt say that you are wrong.
  26. alavaz

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

If they enabled "relaxed boxing" i.e. 2-3 per PC I think people would come. The problem is that they would actually have to have some semblance of enforcement because the second some boxer with more than 1 group gets seen it'll be all over. LJ and RF still stand out in peoples minds...

    Job Hunting

In my experience, when the term "overqualified," is thrown out, it's usually because they think you will be bored in very short order and either looking to A. leave or B. "improve things." It's hard to gauge that on paper (most people play the resume game), so it's pretty much always decided...

I hate to quote my dad here, but two wrongs don't make a right. I actually really dig P99 but have never really been able to take it seriously because it's just some dudes toy when it all comes down to it. Apparently he's willing to lend you that toy then smack it out of your hand whenever.

I had to shitcan my fiber install. The sales guy swore up and down I could use my own router. Anyway installer guy comes out says I have to use his modem and router but could...

It's not about the money. Everybody thinks they have some "culture" that's worth protecting and pass people over who don't fit it to a T (cause that's what faang does). That is of course until they haven't filled any of their slots in their projected time and settle for anyone with a pulse...

IT/Software career thread: Invert binary trees for dollars.

Will you be developing apps for CGI internal use or for customers? Either way I can't imagine it being highly stressful. Most of the time people get frustrated with companies like these for the opposite reason - annoyingly slow and bureaucratic.

The Canadian CGI? They used to have a bunch of contracts on the base I work on. No one complained about them - but just like any big contracting company, working on the customer side is a much different experience than working for corporate.

OpenWRT has had the lua config interface (luci) for a long time. It's not really that bad, most router firmware is like bourne shell via cgi.

    Job Hunting

It's easy to get another job even with your current title so a title change without a salary change would be kind of meaningless. I'd round up job postings similar in description to yours, note the titles and then compile a median salary for that and bring that to your boss. I bet median salary...
