EQ TLP - Yelinak (True-Box Timelocked Progression)

We've walked this dog many times here before. They don't need a reason to ban you - no game company does. Nor does any restaurant, store, job, etc. It's the right to refuse service. No one can truly protect themselves from any organization "finding a reason." It's sounds to me like you guys...

Oooh, I got a good meme for this! And Cinge says I don't try hard enough:
  3. alavaz

EQ TLP - Yelinak (True-Box Timelocked Progression)

Doesn't that meme usually require contradictory buttons? It's obvious to me what is cheating and it's obvious to ol' breakdown. Neither of us will get banned.... So I don't get it?

EQ TLP - Yelinak (True-Box Timelocked Progression)

Yes. I see why you need a cut sheet of the rules spelled out in absolute terms. Don't apply judgment. If DPG doesn't stipulate it exactly and other people have done it before, we can't know for sure!

EQ TLP - Yelinak (True-Box Timelocked Progression)

Lol. You can only infer your own meaning to everything can't you? I definitely see why you have trouble... And by the way, I have not made a single comment to the effect that it's a "good" policy. I just think the outrage is a touch hypocritrical and it makes me chuckle ever so slightly.
  8. alavaz

EQ TLP - Yelinak (True-Box Timelocked Progression)

Then you can get banned for it. See wasn't that easy to just apply some judgment?
  9. alavaz

EQ TLP - Yelinak (True-Box Timelocked Progression)

I get that they have shitty detection for SEQ and MQ so bans are inconsistent - but I also understand perfectly well that they are not ok programs to use and risk of ban is high. The players are just at much as fault because they lie about what they get banned over. To your second point, people...

EQ TLP - Yelinak (True-Box Timelocked Progression)

Lol, I still can't understand the outrage. It should be obvious when you are using programs that are cheating vs. programs that are not.
  11. alavaz

EQ TLP - Yelinak (True-Box Timelocked Progression)

Every other game has the same policy though. No one will approve any 3rd party program for use with their games. The other games do have approved add-on systems though, which we all know sadly DPG will never get around to implementing. The only thing (if it even is a thing) that should be fixed...

EQ TLP - Yelinak (True-Box Timelocked Progression)

I personally feel confident using my own judgment on what is ok and what's not... but (and I mean this very seriously) DPG should know that a good part of their playerbase posseses a certain mental "diversity," that makes then unable to comprehend non black and white rules. Which is probably...

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

I think they should give EQ the complete Rudy Giuliani treatment. I can't imagine that throwing a krono lords account into the bit bucket is anything but a net positive - I mean that's basically erasing debt.
  14. alavaz

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

I'd definitely say this is true. At least insofar as I've never gotten banned at all on either of my two main accounts and they've both loaded MQ2 plenty of times on live servers. I always loaded it on throwaways for TLPs though and even at that only briefly to check on a couple of theories...

Nice, I'm going the other direction - cert wise anyway. The customer that I work for has been and will likely remain on Azure. I have both the DevOps and Solutions Architect certs from Microsoft. My company though, is a big Systems Integration partner with AWS and is looking to get some more...

He (Quarken/Teckno) covers a lot of it there, basically he was in the best of whatever you could wear at lvl 52 in late 2002 / early 2003 so probably a lot of velious and luclin gear. He streams every so often on twitch and is a genuinely cool guy who probably deserves like a thousand times...

Lol, are we seriously debating whether the Triality collective ego has merit? I give points to anyone who posts funny EQ updates. That was once a major part of the culture and seems to have died out with TLPs.

    Job Hunting

I think it's just the new norm that employers are doing what they can to get people to stay. It'd be nice if it were more proactive, but I actually left my job for 6 months and came back - something I thought I'd never do - and have been extremely happy with the decision (along with the money /...

Or relentlessly pursued by 3 letter agencies. That's just how government contracts work. You either stay in the seat and sign on with the new company that wins the bid or you stay with your current company and move to another contract. Generally, you stay in the seat if you like the customer...

No commissions, they were very adamant it was not a sales job and performance wasn't tied to sales. It probably would've been easy in some facets, but painfully boring in others. I hate powerpoints and vizios and all that dumb shit. AWS is obviously going big in telco though, so if you want to...

I interviewed for Amazon a few years ago and the base salary wasn't that great. I interviewed for a federal aws architect and spent easily 12+ hours in videoconferences with their "chime" software that they make you use. I had a softball coding interview since architects don't code at all...

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

Hmmm I dunno about that. I think there are still a shocking amount of people who flat out don't care about being good at EQ. As long as they can chat with the homies and smoke cigarettes whenever they want, they are perfectly happy.

I've used parsec to play EQ from the road before on TLPs. I doubt they care or look for it. I will say that it's not all that great for playing on shitty wifi (i.e. hotels). It needs a pretty solid connection for a good frame rate - but your living room use case is perfect for it.

It should be fine. Usually when they want to force you into using a device you'll get a client cert that's tied to the hostname of the laptop. Doesn't sound like that's the case.

    Job Hunting

It's kind of ironic how many people I know (including myself) who have left and come back to their jobs over the last couple of years. That's another thing that, ten years ago, didn't seem like happened all that often. I left my job I'd been at for 6~ years last Nov. to join a high paying AI...

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

Why wouldn't the compiler just bypass the mq2auth if they wanted to hand it out to the masses? That's been incredibly well known how to get around that since like the day it came out...

Nah MQ2Auth was barely a speed bump. Having reliable access to offsets is the real barrier to entry, otherwise you only have a build for a patch cycle.

Google/MS are only providing authentication. Your app has to have some way to know about the google account so that it can authorize it. Most people would use some sort of 3rd party authz service - Casbin · An authorization library that supports access control models like ACL, RBAC, ABAC for...

Yes, good point. The people who are smart AND want to cheat are few and far between. In my opinion anyway.
  35. alavaz

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

I actually think the smart people are few and far between if I'm being honest. Like a shocking amount of EQ players are awful with computers. MQ2 was open source as well and people who were smart enough to compile were few enough, but people who could update offsets every patch were even fewer...

EQ TLP - Vaniki (Level-Locked Progression)

Thanks! So in your expert opinion does this mean that if they lift truebox completely there would be the same amount of people boxing big armies because this highly available code that people can easily inject into their game is basically rendering truebox null and void? Regarding, the haste...

I feel like Gnomes are pretty damn close to the book. Actually I take that back. Gnomes have that maze. I was thinking of Halflings, but that doesn't fulfil the caster class.
