Utterly forgettable. I kept waiting for it to get "good" since so many praised it. Absolute snooze fest.

    Destiny 2 - Clan Link 1st Post

I skipped this entire one after playing a lot of D1. Is there a bunch of content to run through it as a single player FPS for a bit or is it pretty much multiplayer from the get go?

    Ascent: Infinite Realm

I've already put 1k+ hours into BDO over the years. Literally zero interest in playing anymore regardless of new classes/content. This and new world will kill a month or two off being "new" crap to play.

    Ascent: Infinite Realm

BDO is old news and Lost Ark still months away for NA client. It's standard asian mmo fare to pass the time until FFXIV expac and Lost Ark.

    Ascent: Infinite Realm

Cool I'll watch video. Yeah definitely more tera vibe in combat. As of now I hit L30 pretty quickly, did a solo dungeon, messed with the cash shop, made a clan etc. Pros: combat/skills/art etc all look good as expected. Cons: UI is gross, no rebinding keys (LET ME REBIND "F" FFS), weird...

    Ascent: Infinite Realm

Anyone try out the current beta yet? You can link twitch account and watch a streamer for an hour to get access. Looks very much like BDO combat/quest wise.

    Hades (Supergiant Games)

If you aren't playing this with a controller you're a masochist regardless of couch or PC desk preference.

    BLESS

If you enjoy playing MMOs that would have been complete garbage if they came out 15 years ago but released this year then yes it's worth it.
  11. Chimney

    Tales of Arise

Button mashing probably better idea than trying to pull off 100+ hit combos that aren't interesting or deep enough to make the combat enjoyable unlike say FFVII remake where getting good at combos is actually rewarding.

    Tales of Arise

I hope this is good. Vesperia was a chore to finish.

    Cyberpunk 2077

Seriously I have been waiting for that inevitable wishlist discount email to buy and it's always a meh price. Brightside the game might be bug free when it does finally get low!

Game Pass for Xbox and PC

If you're a completionist you'll be at it a long time, but if you're just looking to beat the story it's to get all the stuff.

    Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Yeah Kingmaker was the first game I ever felt the need to leave a steam review over the course of my 50+ hours of play through as I was so annoyed with it being a buggy/unfinished pile on release ;[

    Dragon Quest: The Definitive Thread

That is probably a large part of it. With the glut of games to play picking up something that is "more of the same" gets old when it wasn't anything stand out in the first place. FF for example has a lot of hit or miss with me but I will always give a game in the series a chance since there...

    Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

I'll be waiting a few days/week as the first game was butt for a while after launch regardless of people saying this one has a less buggy experience.

    Dragon Quest: The Definitive Thread

I have only beaten III in the series but I have played most including about 10 hours of XI. They just never hook me with story, art or music and I have played and beaten practically every other popular rpg series that has existed from the 90s onward so it's weird that these just never clicked...

Game Pass for Xbox and PC

Hades is on the 12th no? It is such a good game that it has ruined most roguelites that I would have otherwise thought were solid into just meh. Like Curse of the Dead Gods which also just landed on like a week ago on gamepass. Not a terrible game, but just so basic and boring compared to the...

    The Ascent

Having finished I would give the game a 6/10. The world was fantastic but you aren't really rewarded for exploring and it felt empty with the sheer amount of detail put into things. Gameplay/content overall felt as if incomplete and the twin stick combat seemed like overkill with how little it...

    New World

I don't think NW sucks and I've played through basically every iteration since they started letting the public touch it. It's just not doing anything better than has been done before in other MMOs and community driven content is pretty bad for longevity in an MMO. Depending on how broad your...

    The Ascent

The keyboard movement is indeed ass, but quality of life to lounge while gaming w/ controller makes up for the tiniest gains in mouse aiming precision. Aim assist is always an instant off for me when all of this could be tuned by stick sensitivity instead to user preference. Don't get me...

    New World

For me sure. I can spend 30-60 hours a week gaming and juggling multiple games is fine. All the casual MMO dad gamers I play with tend to play 1 game at a time though based on hype/popularity/where their friends are. If New World, which is 100% going to need player driven content to succeed...

    The Ascent

You seem to be very passionate to disseminate so much from a singular post of my experience and settings so far in half a dozen hours of gameplay within the gamepass pc version of the ascent of which I've stated the issues I've also had and haven't commented on anyones console/steam etc bugs or...

    The Ascent

I dunno why you are comparing aim assist with gated/poorly done quest content, but sorry if I touched a nerve in your game play.
  27. Chimney

    New World

At this point why not delay it until it's done since we're already a year and a half back from original date. If it drops in the midst of Lost Ark, FFXIV expac/hype and other end of year releases I doubt it even hits the couple months of fun most are expecting out of it at launch.
  28. Chimney

    The Ascent

Playing on PC gamepass with controller and no aim assist. No movement or aiming issues but you can definitely tell they were going for a bit more realism versus something like Gungeon or Neon Chrome. It feels very much like the game Ruiner but obviously more fleshed out. 4k reso, all...

Tribes of Midgard (diablo-like survival PS5/PC)

Been watching solo play with various classes and they seem to be trucking along no problem. You guys just bad or are they excellent? =D For $20 and having full controller support it looks like a purchase once I get through the ascent.

    Grime

I think for me it's the fact it starts to feel very safe with some progress while in most of the other games I am always worried about dying while exploring and the waste of time that comes with it which is something I have a love/hate relationship with since it requires staying pretty focused...

    Grime

Really loving the aesthetic of the game though I do not think it's as good as say Hollow Knight or Bloodstained game play wise. Easy pickup though if you're a fan of the genre.

    New World

In 2 years that I've played various iterations of this game it still has no solid core imo and not enough of any content at the start to retain bodies long term which is a shame since they have pumped out changes faster than any company I've ever seen this last year. I could see the game...

Monster Hunter Stories 2 - PC / Switch

I'm about 35 hours in and the game keeps on giving in true MH fashion. I wish I did like pokemon more as I could see myself putting 100+ hours getting everything and making the genes stacked, but I just don't want to catchem all.

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

You don't even need the chocobo pet tbh. I've never used it once on any class since equalish level crap dies in seconds. Maybe it's useful if you're just grinding fates on your 8th level 80 alt or something. You'll have so much experience from MSQ + blue side quests you can have multiple...

Monster Hunter Stories 2 - PC / Switch

This deserves its own thread because it's not getting the love it needs. https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/monster-hunter-stories-2-wings-of-ruin-switch/ They nailed this 100% imo. Perfect blend of MH world in a JRPG with some pokemon flavoring. Can't comment on switch but it runs...

    Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

So six hours later definitely recommend MHS2 if you're a JRPG fan and/or MH fan. It's pretty great so far with some surprisingly over the top attack animations and a gameplay loop that mimics the MH series hunts but obv with turn based combat. The egg gathering/hatching shit is a bit too...

    Which MOBA?

It's nice to see that even the MOBA related threads are as toxic as the games. Edit: Also I would play Smite over any of these if I was just getting into MOBAs. Easiest to pick up and go, faster pace, not a lot of BS to learn and one time purchase for all chars and probably the least toxic...

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

You're crazy. Monk and Ninja are literally the two most rewarding DPS classes to play in the game and probably throughout most MMOs I've played. Dragoon close running just for flashiness. The rest of the DPS I could play with my eyes closed the rotations are so simple to maximize. I have...
