Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarted Sandbox Space Flight Sim)

I find it really refreshing that the game doesn't hold your hand through everything. It's something I really didn't notice until I started this, but I'm kind of tired of constant tutorials.

Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarted Sandbox Space Flight Sim)

I got about 54k in bounties in three or four kills in Wolf 865 near the nav point. Not sure what kind of money you consider good, but for my broke ass, that was a good amount for the time I spent there.

Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarted Sandbox Space Flight Sim)

Pay special attention to the amount of power you have while upgrading/changing things. I just found out the hard way that all my gear pulls too much power when I deploy hardpoints. It shuts them down according to what level you set them at. Now I know to look at that.

Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarted Sandbox Space Flight Sim)

I ended up doing a few of these last night and made enough off of the mission and the bounties to actually feel like I'm not sitting in poverty. I mean, I still don't have enough for a ship or anything, but I upgraded some internal stuff on my ship and I plan on getting a decent pulse laser or...

Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarted Sandbox Space Flight Sim)

Yup, if you're doing open play you're getting denied because the station was full. Normally you can keep trying or just watch for somebody to fly out and hit it pretty quickly. I started two days ago and I'm really enjoying it now, but yeah, the learning curve is steep. I just started messing...

Anybody ever just float around stations and watch people try to dock? It's pretty funny.

Star Citizen Online - The search for more money

I'm going to give Elite a go, but it won't be until I'm comfortable spending the money for the game and a decent joystick. Maybe the game will be discounted a bit by then.

    Whats rustling your jimmies?

Isn't that sort of WoW's thing, though? Another example that jumps out is the achievement system they have in place. I know it was probably in an MMO before, but I remember LotRo launching with it and then WoW implementing it a few months later.

Star Citizen Online - The search for more money

I'm gonna echo RhoA's question a bit here, but: I want to try the game out, but I can't really figure out much from the FAQS. I think the game is split into different sections at this point, and to try them you have to pledge at different spots? Arena Commander, etc. Anybody have any advice?

    First World Problems

I'm not sure what it says about me, but the first two minutes or so of this absolutely infuriate me just because of how "intimate" she is while addressing the camera. That soft-voice whisper shit she is doing.

PSN is still down, so instead of downloading a new game tonight like I planned, I had to play another (new) game instead.

    Orlando

For anybody thinking of going to either of the Universal parks: get whatever ticket package allows you to enter early and go park-to-park. My wife and I just spent four days there to check out the Harry Potter stuff, and besides the very last day, we barely saw a "crowd" of any kind. We went...

    Wii U

I picked up the HD remake of Wind Waker a few days ago, and I'm getting some crazy drops in FPS whenever I'm sailing and the octorock's appear anywhere near the boat.

    Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

My only nemesis was an orc that was immune to everything but stealth kills and constantly surrounded by six or seven of the spear-uruks. The only reason he was my nemesis is that I could never behead him so he couldn't come back.

    Whats rustling your jimmies?

Back when I worked in a warehouse they would blast the radio 24/7, so we got a lot of the most annoying morning talk shows. The worst, hands down, was the fucking Steve Harvey show. It was like four hours of incomprehensible yelling, broken up by spans of laughter that lasted four or five...

    Destiny: Rise of Iron 9.20.16

So do you have to play through the Crucible "missions" to get to the level 6 thing on the moon? Or is it not available in beta? Just tells me I haven't met the requirements.

    Destiny: Rise of Iron 9.20.16

Of course it is doomed to be full of mouthbreathers. Did you play Halo 3/reach/4 online? It'll be the typical racism, homophobia, and 11 year old boys with high-pitched voices screaming. ...Unless they are still playing whatever Call of Duty is currently popular.

    What do you do?

If it's anything like my student teaching, it's all what you want it to be. If you want to do the majority of the lesson planning, you will. If you want to teach pre-planned stuff, you will. Etc.

    Destiny: Rise of Iron 9.20.16

I think the urge to run up and melee to "break the shield" from halo is still there for a lot of people. Friend and I watched a random guy run out and die instantly six times during that tank fight. I think he eventually realized that his strategy wasn't working.

    What do you do?

Kinda late to the game here, but I have been teaching English to Sophomores and Seniors for one year now and I fucking hate it. I don't know how anybody teaches for years and doesn't go insane. I blame half of it on the school I work in, but the kids are so ridiculously entitled to everything...

    Whats rustling your jimmies?

I have a kid and I never complain about stupid shit like lack of sleep. A) I've played video games into the early hours my entire life anyway, and B) I knew what I was getting into when I signed up for this. It's not like I didn't have 9 months of warning before the cause of my lack of sleep...

    The Last of Us

It's going to be difficult for me not to be a purist on this one. I really, really enjoyed the story line of the game. If we end up with World War Z infected I might burn something down.

    Whats rustling your jimmies?

I'll second this advice. I was a decently picky eater until I met my wife. All of the random shit she has fixed for dinner since we first met has all but completely killed that in me. I actually look forward to trying new foods now, whereas in the past I would just refuse to try anything.

Your most disappointing/worst game of 2013

I just finished Origins yesterday, and I largely agree with you. I did love the story very soon after Joker got involved, and I don't think it was a bad game, but I'm glad I rented it instead of buying it. I didn't even touch the trophy hunting stuff.

Most screwed up thing your parent/bro/sis/gf/bf has told you?

I'll add to the depressing parents stories. My mother and father have been married for nearly thirty years. Recently, my mom found out (through some pretty fucking impressive internet sleuthing for a woman that barely touches a computer) that my dad had been cheating on her with two or three...

She isn't crawling yet, but she is "talking" nonstop and screaming when she isn't making "words". She rolls over and everything, and sometimes she will get her legs up under her and start to push herself up, but she doesn't show much interest in actually crawling.

So my five month old daughter's sleep habits have suddenly turned into a nightmare of unpredictability. She is teething, which I attribute to some of it, but this kid went from getting up maybe once or twice a night to waking up almost every hour for a few minutes. My wife doesn't have the...

    Is the MMO Market imploding?

Okay, I don't want to read hours of quest text, but I at least like it to be there? I don't know. In MMO's I want it there when I'm doing solo stuff. I think it is silly to expect people to stand around and wait on people to read the quest text when they are grouped, though. I think that is...

    Is the MMO Market imploding?

Considering I actually want to know the storyline, I the fuck want to spend some time reading quest text in games. I mean, there are exceptions: a multiplayer game, for example. Is the MMO Market imploding?

I decided to give it another go (I played right at launch for like two weeks) last week. I stopped as soon as I found out that one of the f2p things was your action bars. Is the MMO Market imploding?

I'm sure that this would be a terrible business model, but fuck all the "gamers" who can't spend ten minutes reading quest text to figure out where to go, or actually working to achieve something in an MMO. If they want instant gratification, let them stay on facebook. I don't understand why the...
