Thief is the best dps class in the game but it's not as easy to use as the warrior. If you're not a mouthbreather and are willing to put in a bit of effort, go with the thief.

No release date yet. I highly doubt you won't be able to weapon swap when you pick a class specialization; you do get access to weapons you weren't allowed to use before and/or get new skills/utilities/elites.
