    The D&D thread

https://www.opendnd.games/ Has Paizo come out with anything official on the subject yet? As the biggest single entity with multiple products directly impacted I would expect they would be a major player in the whole affair.

    The D&D thread

I read a blurb on Discord (yeah yeah... bastion of journalism that...) that Owlcat was given a head's up about this more than a year ago and that's partly why they decided to effectively abandon Pathfinder and charge headlong into the Warhammer: Rogue Trader system. I do think that the OGL has...

    Solasta: Crown of the Magister

I wonder to what extent the existence of this game, which was released as a DND clone under the auspices of the OGL, has precipitated the current draconian changes being made by WOTC to revoke the open license itself. It made a decent amount of coin when it was just on Steam but now has pulled...

    The D&D thread

There has been a lot tossed around about this for the past month, but more and more is leaking about this now. I'm no law-wrangler, but the analysis above from a purported law person is not encouraging.

    Marvel's Midnight Suns

Spoiler for final mission There are two 'mid-credits' scenes, by the way, so be on the look out for them. The second of which points to a very interesting direction for either DLC or a sequel.

    Marvel's Midnight Suns

I've been playing it a lot this past week. The writing is not good, but the gameplay of how the abilities work and how the deck building is done is top-tier. It is absolutely possible to gimp your team if you build out their deck poorly and/or don't realize the natural synergies that exist...

    Avatar: The Last Airbender

Avatars generally have a long life. Aang got shortchanged because he spent a century frozen in the ice, but most them live to be ~150+. This makes sense given the whole ~20+ years training before they can take on their role. If they only lived to 60 or so then your have 1/3 of human history...

    Avatar 2 (2020)

This is a key selling point for the higher frame rate. It helps to eliminate the 'tinfoil in a blender' sensation that dominated the Bayformers movies what with every frame ending up kinda blurry due to the extent and speed of what was being displayed on the screen & tracked by a moving...

    Avatar 2 (2020)

If you see it at all it's worth seeing in the nicest 3D theater you can find. Cameron's whole process is why 3D was even a thing 10+ years ago and he still has it. It pops in a way that no other 3D movies I've seen since the original Avatar. It truly is gorgeous.

    Avatar 2 (2020)

Saw it in a laser 3D high frame rate etc. brand new theater and the visuals were amazing. I think the high frame rate helped the 3D effect considerably as it felt 'real' and not 'soap opera' ish. As to the plot ... ... The visuals were amazing.

DC Universe (Batman vs Superman thread).

I would have liked to have seen a Cavill version of the 'cardboard' speech from Superman the Animated Series. I don't think I care enough about an 'early 20s' Superman. After all those years of Smallville, the Animated Series, even Supergirl I feel there's not much room for anything that...

Wayfinder -- new Free To Play MMO

Was revealed at the game awards and it feels like the spritual successor to Wildstar with maybe a bit of Battleborn thrown in for good measure. True MMO with lots of randomized craft-based loot gathering. The visuals are darn compelling.

    The D&D thread

They have had ideas before about how to monetize players -- the 'Complete Guide to X', the spell/ability cards as a player aid, etc. None of it has really worked out well. Their biggest money making from players has always been the ancillary stuff like CRPGs, books, clothing etc.

    Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader (CRPG)

Alpha and yeah. Now it IS alpha so obviously lots of slack should be given and there does appear to be a substantial chunk of the game live, but they start you in 'Chapter 2' at level 15 and that results in you just having a fuckton of abilities, many of which are currently kinda stupid. I...

    Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader (CRPG)

This one does... 3 planets at the start and you get to colonize more while acting as the head of state for this small personal empire. But never mind that, lets hear this rando's sob story and go put yourself in harms way to fix their daddy issues.

    Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader (CRPG)

I find the premise of this game... odd. You are the Rogue Trader granted sanction to do shit in the Emperor's Name because there needed to be a narrative explanation for a mismatched group of adventurers who are allowed to go do shit. That part is a conceit but one I can get behind easily...
