Lower Decks being a completely faithful Star Trek show with some actual bite to some episodes has been one of the most remarkable things about this new era of Trek. It honors the stories and world building of the main series in a irreverent-yet-also-reverential way that is just damn smart.

Yeah this is the absolute weakness of Pathfinder -- it is open-ended enough to allow for a myriad of character concepts, but some of the synergies are so strong (and so suited to a CRPG format) that you are effectively castrating yourself by not using them.

It would be easy to say "all these stories are operating on different timelines" except the falling star was seen in each of them thus providing a singular reference point. There's just no reasonable way to explain the timescale differences between the various plotlines.
