Do you do that when you do string changes? My LP has an ebony fretboard and I hadn't heard that they're susceptible to cracking.

They're both well worth the sale prices IMO. Just Cause 2 is a very fun mayhem simulator with a huge open world, and Civ 5 is pretty decent if you like the Civ formula.

Well, I'll be honest with you. Johnsons are cheap pieces of junk. You'll outgrow it very fast if you end up liking guitar enough to stick with. It's still a start though, and the important part is to stop talking about playing and actually play. Plus the folks in this thread will help you...

What kind of guitar did you get? Justinguitar.com is a good place to start for the basics, and then you can branch out from there as you figure out what you want to play.

Get one and test it out for us. I'd be interested in something like that for recording, since I don't really think I'm going to be very effects heavy once I play live. It'd be a toy for at home.

For me, it was more about just getting focus away from tinkering with various weird guitars and onto just PLAYING. Even in the couple weeks that I've had this LP, I've noticed a difference.

Sorry, I'm stopping at 199 BPM. Forever. And yeah Bondurant, I need a proper recording setup at some point, but I'm waiting until I have stuff more worth recording. I absolutely love this new guitar though. Getting down to one really solid guitar was absolutely the right choice.

I did that through Amplitube, it's just me over a backing track using one of their amp models. My actual amp is a Peavey Delta Blues that sounds really good, but I don't have a good way to mic it up yet.

I can sing and play in very limited fashion at the same time. Both parts still have to be pretty simple. But I'm getting better.

I love P90s. I like playing big chords, and humbuckers get too muddy with those, at least in my experience; but Strat-style single coils are too twangy with single notes. P90s occupy a sweet middle ground that's perfect for what I want to play, I think.
