it would be interesting to see if some of those things can be changed.. Like death penalty, remove some fast travel. obviously there will be no Buying equipment or mounts so that is a big step. Make boats matter !!!

Divinity from 1-6 was pretty damn good ( in that first town ) it then seemed to drop off from there and again, combat got very repetitive compared to a BG2.

What do you think of Divinity Original sin, seems that is more around what you are talking about.

You may have a case here with AD&D that BG ( and the level range ) was based on but the complexity increases incredibly when you get into BG2 or even better D&D 3.x. Pillars of Eternity combat got very repetitive, baldurs gate 2 not even close. Countless encounters in bg2 that took different...

Combat was fun in POE , but man I am playing BG2 and i get into a room ( party level 10ish ) with 3 wizards in ambush mode. they buff with so much protection i cant dispell cant do shit. So i cast blade barrier and go at em with cleric and tank, my wiz debuffs them and blade barrier takes me...

fortunately or unfortunately part of the fun of DDO advancement is simplifying your crap. Reduction in gear, scrolls etc. I am not a UMD guy as I like to roll solo with a hire or 2. or with a friend and 2 hires.

The first time you cast magic missile with 3 more 4 missiles do it in character mode like behind character that casts it. Turn up sound, shit is awesome. Spell effects in nwn2 are really great.

Get a ranged weapon on your wizard mine using wand.

Druid is awesome. I am considering a play through on Path of the dammed with Druid as main. I keep my wizard far in the back and have Cipher CC, Priest CC knockdown trap and wizzy CC to keep them away, then i usually sneak his ass around to the side and AE shit. Agree on pathfinding...

There is not a good camera mod. You will get used to it though. I hated it and i would bounce between character view and then the other that is not Strategy view, although strat view is just like BG. Its the views that make it nuts... maybe remap a key or 2 also may help;
