I think Castlevania II should be on there, but it's kind of the norm these days for everyone to hate it. Not a bad list though.

They have a subscription plan now with theirCreative Cloud. They'd have to cut their prices in half before I'd consider it a great deal though. Some people snag older versions off Ebay too, but at a quick glance I didn't see any super great deals at the moment. Not sure on Student Editions as...

Yeah, I've seen some people use them and even just finger paint. I don't have one, but I've always assumed they probably couldn't handle print res stuff, and the applications are fairly simplistic compared to desktop apps. I'm sure eventually they'll quit focusing as much on ebooks and make a...

Asepriteis a pretty cool sprite editor I found a few months ago. It beats using MSPaint, and it's free so you don't have to buy or "acquire" it like you do Photoshop.

I had that Barbarian game on my first PC. Don't remember the specs but it had MSDos 3.0 and didn't have a mouse. I actually got $50 from a scratch off lottery ticket and bought it, which I guess technically wasn't even legal. It was always really hard to control because for some reason...

Kings Quest III was pretty brutal for me. I always had trouble at typing the spells in, because you had to be perfect. I suppose it'd probably be easier now, since I can actually type. Either 2 or 4 was pretty hard due to a bridge you could only cross 7 times throughout the game or something...

I never could get into SASS or LESS. Same with various Grid CSS frameworks, boilerplates, and other things. It would take me longer to figure out how to use that stuff than just hammering it out in Vim takes. Javascript and php frameworks I'll use though. Especially javascript because they...

Those were unlicensed games, so irrc the A/B switch was to help bypass the NES lockout chip. If A didn't work you could try switching it to B. I've read Nintendo actually would do some shady shit threatening to pull stock if stores tried selling those games along side the "Seal of Quality"...

Reading it that way it sounds more like playing the original Legend of Zelda, going around accumulating easy money from moblins, and winding up with a white sword, blue ring, and 2 extra heart containers before even stepping foot in the first dungeon. In those situations I don't think the game...

There was an arcade in my area which had Galaxian 3. It was like it's own room where 6 players went in and sat down and played gunners on a giant screen. I never did play it because it was around $3 to play iirc. Was still a pretty impressive booth. Here is a little article about it.

Haha yeah, I had forgotten about the password thing. I fired it up on my emulator box out of curiosity. Doesn't seem too bad a game really. It's definitely an old school style RPG, but the battle system makes the grinding not seem so monotonous. Well, so far at least. I suppose things could...

I played the sequel to Kung-Fu Heroes, called Little Ninja Brothers (as a kid I rented just about anything with Ninja in the title). It's probably one of the weirdest RPGs I've played. Most of it plays sorta like Final Fantasy 1, but when you go into battle it's real-time like that Kung-Fu...

With something small you can usually at least get a functional prototype up pretty quickly and then it's kind of...
