Evil Dead 1 is like the prototype, Evil Dead 2 is a masterpiece. I didn't enjoy AoD at all really compared to 2. I thought it was trying way too hard to be cheesy and goofy and succeeded. The humour in 2 wasn't goofy, it was more unsettling.
