Actually, the burden is on you to actually come out and say whether you think that the authors of the NFA meant for NFA trusts to be possible, rather than continuing to hide behind "lawl it's never been used in a crime", which I never even asserted to the contrary. When some guy with an NFA...
  2. D

    Gun control

Yeah, you're the guy that thinks that the flawed language in the NFA enabling trusts was intentional. You're not so good at braining.
  3. D

    Gun control

On the contrary, you keep trying to push me there but I won't go.

    Gun control

How much does someone who would do that care about safety?
  5. D

    Gun control

Your assertion was that we didn't need to worry if weapons could be modified to fire full auto, because it's against the law.
  6. D

    Gun control

I think some restrictions on what they're able to produce is pretty sensible. Guns are an easy target, but there are probably some other things that they shouldn't be able to produce in relatively unlimited quantity on demand.
  7. D

    Gun control

Exactly exactly. Gun advocates like to pretend that the law is no deterrent when it serves them (criminals don't follow gun bans), but pretend it is an absolute deterrent when it doesn't (modifying guns illegally to fire full auto).

    Gun control

I'm actually pretty concerned about this, but I don't know what an easy solution is.
  10. D

    Gun control

Since when do criminals follow laws? HOW DO YOU LIKE IT?
  11. D

    Gun control

Where did I say lots? But okay, let's play. What's the societal benefit to constructing even one gun such that it can be modified this way?
  12. D

    Gun control

Why am I not surprised that you don't actually know how the Socratic Method works? Hint, if someone does like I did and refuses to follow you through the game, it doesn't happen.
  13. D

    Gun control

I actually agree with you for the most part. It's not the first thing I'd go after. But in an ideal world, where I got everything on my wish list, they'd be gone. Despite Khalid's protestations, it's a ridiculously clear loophole in the law that should be closed.
  14. D

    Gun control

Sure! Let's ban anything that can easily be modified to fire full auto by drilling a simple fucking hole.
  15. D

    Gun control

That's a small price to pay for freedom.
  16. D

    Gun control

Two more, but fuck the children. I don't want to inconvenience you guys too much.
  17. D

    Gun control

What do you need more than 20 rounds for without reloading, bro? I went back up to 20 because I'm a giver.
  18. D

    Gun control

Okay, cool. So he gets about 10 rounds off in 2 seconds. So we're at 10 rounds. I'll be generous and stay at 20 though.
  19. D

    Gun control

Sorry, you fucked up. We're going back to 20.
  20. D

    Gun control

So your assertion is that the people who wrote the NFA, whose stated purpose was to basically eliminate civilian ownership of "gangster weapons" that were a huge problem at the time, purposely left in the language that enables NFA trusts to exist?
  21. D

    Gun control

Because you're the expert and you said 19. We can go back up to 20 if you'd like though. Or you could answer my question about what a reasonable fire rate is over a couple of seconds with an AR-15.
  22. D

    Gun control

I don't have to. I want a clear loophole in an existing law corrected.
  23. D

    Gun control

As long as it's not something designed to pierce armor (which if I understand correctly has a lot more to do with the bullet's construction than caliber) I don't really care that much about caliber size. There's even some legitimate hunting purposes for really big calibers, for hunting...
  24. D

    Gun control

People like you who sit in an office chair eating potato chips all day need larger size pants. There's a demonstrable societal benefit to having larger sizes of pants available. I don't want you trying to squeeze into a 34 inch waist.
  25. D

    Gun control

(I admit I had to look up what an LBE was) Probably shouldn't be in civilian hands either. What's the benefit to someone who isn't shooting up a school or a movie theater, except that they look cool?
  26. D

    Gun control

Who cares? They're still exploitative of a badly written law and very clearly circumvent its intent.
  27. D

    Gun control

Because you said 19. So we're sticking with that.
  28. D

    Gun control

Alright, 19 it is. Here's another one that is really going to piss you guys off. I think NFA trusts should be eliminated. They exploit badly written law to allow civilians to own things they shouldn't.
  29. D

    Gun control

Are 19 round magazines common? But fine. Give me a reasonable number of shots to fire from, say, an AR-15, in two seconds. Without reloading, going balls to the walls shooting adorable little children.
  30. D

    Gun control

Was that so hard? Let's say...20 rounds. But you guys are the experts; what are some common sizes? It has to be small enough that you're forced to reload fairly frequently while you're killing elementary school children.
  31. D

    Gun control

I agree, but pointing out how bad Araysar is at braining is pretty fun.
  32. D

    Gun control

That post addressed a factual error in my statement, which I went back and corrected just for you. Now can you link me to the one that proves that the law in question isn't a traffic law enacted within the last 20 years?
  33. D

    Gun control

Why are you dodging my question?
  34. D

    Gun control

Where did you disprove that it was a traffic law? This is more fun than talking about magazine sizes.
  35. D

    Gun control

You asked me to provide an example of a traffic law enacted within the last 20 years. I provided one.
  36. D

    Gun control

Oh. So the part about being able to use a hands-free device still somehow makes it...not a traffic law?
  37. D

    Gun control

Oh, he hates me too. I'm sure he's organizing a mob to come take me out right now, blood in the streets, yadda yadda yadda.
  38. D

    Gun control

Oh, so you're going to try to play semantics, badly. Fine. I've edited my original post, now you actually have to address the point.
  39. D

    Gun control

"Starting on June 10, 2010, talking or sending text messages while holding a wireless device will carry a $124 fine, after legislation signed by Gov. Chris Gregoire that changes the current cell phone law into a primary traffic offense."

    The Official Guitar Thread

Oh, nice. THat's even better. I don't mind paying for quality backing tracks. Also, fuck. I got salt from my sweat on my Kalamazoo. My guitar polish didn't take it off. Is it safe to use a little bit of water or something? It's a sealed wood finish but I want to be super careful about fucking...
