EQ2 heavily delved into this in their last expansion. You get to visit dungeons from several "Threads" beyond EQ1-2's (crazy HHK, Guk filled with bixies, etc..)which made me wonder if we didn't get a sneak peek at some of EQ Next's lore/dungeons. It was pretty fucking lame though.
