I had a similar issue. Had a storm drain right near my gravel driveway that would overflow into my driveway and wash all the gavel away and dig a big trench (I think there are pics in this thread somewhere). Called the city engineers, they came out and pumped the drain or something to attempt to...

Anyone pick up the last couple of batches of Enjoy By and been disappointed? Had some 4/20 last week and didn't think it had nearly the "hop-pop" of previous batches. I'm wondering if it is due to poor handling procedures by local distribution or if these last couple of batches have just been...

I wonder how much time the "weight-weenie" critics in this thread spent min-maxing a character in a video game. Or paid way too much to have the absolute best video card just to play WoW.

    Cheated out of my youth

I found out the hard way that in WA your body is technically "a container" and counts for a MIP of alcohol. If I would have known better I probably could have got away with just a night in the drunk tank but I was young and drunk (blew a .21) and talked a little too much to the cop so I ended up...

Barley has gluten. There is a new(ish) product on the market called ClarityFerm. It was originally intended as a clearing agent but it has since been discovered that it reduces the gluten in beer to undetectable levels, way below the threshold food is required to get below to be labeled as...

Appreciate the offer and feedback. I'm going to see what my local bottle shop has before I start paying to ship beers all over the place but I may still hit you up. Also thanks for the advice on the smoked malt. I've used just a touch of peat-smoked malt in my Scottish Ale before but that is...

My homebrew club has a competition every two months. The first one was making a beer with a base malt produced by a new local maltster and I took 1st place with an Imperial Stout. The next one was a Schwarzbier and I took 2nd. The next one up is forsmoked beers (including Classic Rauchbier and...

Yeah, I guess I should add that some beers will add a touch of flaked wheat to the grist to help with body and head retention. But finding "Barley, Hops, Water, Yeast" beers should be easy. Carapils (a lightly modified malted barley) is a much more commonly used grain for body/head retention.

Hate to be a party-pooper here, but babies don't start social smiles till around 1.5-2 months old. Anything before that is just a reflex, usually to pooping or farting. Not that the reflex smiles aren't cute and enduring, but if you think those are indescribable just wait until you get those...

I'm excited for this season, a little worried that last season might have set the bar too high but I am sure I'll still be entertained. Outside of the storyline itself, I am most curious to see Vince Vaughn's performance. I've always thought he had acting chops but mostly just plays Vince...

Well, I really don't know what that guy is talking about. I mean I'm in WA and my three favorite stores have 23%, 31%, and 18% (admittedly lower than Portland apparently, but all quality) beer selections. Oh, any my favorite bottle shop has 95% beer selection.

Something I forgot to bring up in this conversation. Seattle /Redmond

There is aTONof beer in Seattle. The Washington beer scene is kind of weird because even though we have a ton of amazing breweries they are all small so you probably have never heard of them before. There are probably 15+ breweries in Seattle alone in which their beer doesn't make it much past...
