Alpha Squad people just got their 6 month boost renewed, and it grants +50% exp/resources now, instead of 10!

EQNext was never slated for 2013 release, though. Smed said, at the last SOE Live, that "next year, SOE Live attendees will be able to see EQNext for the first time" (paraphrasing). Given they've scrapped the game twice already, I wouldn't be surprised if 2015 is the actual release year.

I only played Dreamfall, but it was an amazing game. Kickstarting this, without hesitation.

They just started the "new" version of this game sometime after Fanfaire 2011, so.. it's gonna be a while before we see anything concrete (assuming they don't start over a 4th time).

After watching that video, I realized how much I miss games with combat music, and dungeons that are not a single hallway. It.. actually looks good.

.. except for Planetside 2 where you have the option of either spending a month of grinding to unlock a gun, or pay $10 in SC for it. I'm okay with it, because its F2P, but I don't see how this is any different than Zynga allowing players to fast-forward grinds with real money. It just seems...

It"s nice to have epic quests, but the reality is that these large quests (and the example you mentioned) require way more scripting and manhours than a regular fetch/kill quest. That said, I think the world would feel much more alive and meaningful if there were 100 epic multi-chain quests...

If nothing else, make combat abilities meaningful. EQ2 is a pretty good example of how it shouldn"t be done.

I don"t know... just because Vanguard was a failure doesn"t mean the formula is dead. World of Warcraft hasn"t really adopted "console" methodologies, but things that aren"t typical in previous MMOs. Quality should be universal in the gaming industry (like in any industry), not a "console"...

Because they ran out of funding? I mean, hasn"t that been made abundantly clear about the entire game, even before release? It"s no surprise that they pushed the game out early because they had no alternative. In no way is it an acceptable route to take, imo, but I don"t think there"s another...

It"s pretty useful in situations where there"s a bunch of running around involved (lots of PCs/NPCs) or just a pack or mobs that all look identical. Nothing like standing in front of something you think you"re attacking but the actual mob moved somewhere else.

Is Ahgram fully populated yet? Honestly curious; it only had a few NPCs in it a few days pre-Release. Curious how it has progressed. Does it feel like a big city now like EQ2"s Freeport or Qeynos (or even a smaller EQ1 hometown).
