Sorry to disappoint but my weekends from now until summer are pretty much devoted to either baseball or volleyball. My online gaming is primarily on weeknights. PM me your Mumble info and I will drop in sometime.

Once again thanks to Flight for digging that post of mine up. Now if you want to see how to properly cite someone, read what Sage said that I quoted and the compare it to what I said above.

I tend to outright reject irrational, hate-driven explanations no matter who the poster is.

I am going to stand firm on common sense. Nameplates were removed from the closed beta client the patch before I was invited to the beta test. When I got access to the Psijic Order forums there was a major debate on the topic. One side of the debate were MMO vets who were pro-nameplate and...

Thank you for pointing out I have been fighting the nameplate battle for a long time. If you searched a little harder you would find anothet post from me from last week on the topic.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

The alpha/beta forum was called the Psijic Order forums and as someone who had access to them, I can tell you nothing of what Utnaynan claims was ever mentioned there. The only comments from Sage regarding nameplates was along the lines of what I mentioned (they couldn't get them to work...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Since you didn't bother to provide a link to a comment from Sage that backs up your claim, safe for me to conclude you don't actually have one? BTW you've been told numerous times by multiple people that TESO does not use the Hero engine. Why do you continue to claim it does?

    The Elder Scrolls Online

BTW one reason I think no nameplates is directly the result of Cyrodil performance is because in the initial patch notes for one of the incremental 1.5.x patches, ZOS mentioned re-enabling nameplates but then they pulled the patch notes and edited that part out.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

I would love to see a link to any article, citation, etc that supports that claim. Only comment I have seen from Sage in regards to nameplates is that they removed them because they couldn't get them to look right (or something to that effect). He also said they were open to putting them...

Did you mis-type that or did you intend to say your guess was that Wheeler does not support nameplates and guild tags in PVP?

SOE Becomes Daybreak / Russian shutdown

I've always been under the perception that venture capitalists buyout a company for either one of two reasons. The first reason is when they think the company has a good product but is losing money because of poor management. The venture capitalist buys the company, fires the management that...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Yes to guild tabards being in the game now. If you like to gank in Cyrodil then I predict a lot more opportunities for that when 1.6 goes live. Reason for that is a lot of VR14s have already done all the PVE quests in the game. Until new PVE content is released their only source of PVE...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Hell I don't know that's why I said it's pure speculation. Wheeler has been pretty much incommunicado lately and I'm not aware of any official information about how Cyrodil City PVP will function. I just assume the PVP design will be fundamentally different than what is already in the game...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

100% pure speculation about the future of PVP in TESO. Whether you think this makes the PVP meaningful or not is up to you. If you assume that the console version does well, then future PVP content (like Cyrodil city) will cater towards the kind of PVP the console gamers like. By that I...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Since TESO launched, when I've gotten bored with the game I've taken extended breaks to play Archeage, Wildstar and WoW. My self esteem and mental health is not tied into fabricating positive bullshit about a game that I have frequently acknowledged has some major design problems. Some of...

Tuco, It's beneath you to steep down to Utnayan's level of dishonesty. You know good and well I have pretty much agreed with every single one of your criticisms about PVP in TESO. When Vitality asked me a couple pages back whether he should come back to the game, I gave him an honest answer...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Well I had just assumed in a discussion about combat skills, combat animations, combat ability cooldowns and combat GCD I didn't need to spell out I was referring to combat abilities. You at least gave Utnayan a way to quibble and avoid answering the question, which you already know he can't...

You are indeed correct. I apologize profusely for not quantifying my sentence with "combat skill".

    The Elder Scrolls Online

I will apologize profusely to the entire board if you can name one skill in TESO that has a cooldown.
  21. R

    The Elder Scrolls Online

You quoted yourself and Tuco correctly but not Vitality. He clearly said the game doesn't have a GCD or cooldowns because they gate it behind resource pools and animation timing. However as I have been pointing out and apparently only Vitality understands, a skilled player knows how to...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Wait a sec. Before the game was released any semi-competent player knew how easy it was to clip animations. Only the baddies let the entire animation finish. You can't even say the system can be abused or exploited because ZOS has officially said its part of the game and not an exploit.
  23. R

    The Elder Scrolls Online

LOL did it pain you to confirm Utnayan was factually wrong? In pretty much every MMO I have played, players like to criticize developers for not listening to them. Here you have a case of ZOS acknowledging the legit criticisms that you had about animations and attempting to fix/improve...

Thank you for confirming the game does not have a GCD nor do any abilities have a cooldown.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

If you want to count getting a character up to level 5 and then quitting as having experience playing the game then I suppose you are semantically correct. If you are going to double down on insisting the game has a GCD and abilities have cooldowns, you probably shouldn't be throwing out the...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Honestly no idea whether you can still do what you described or not. When you say "bash", are you talking about pressing both mouse buttons at the same time which is done to interrupt casting or escape from being CC'ed? If so not certain why you would want to do that versus block casting or...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Since you actually played the game, your opinion is at least based on experience. What exactly are you saying was supposed to be fixed months ago? ZOS has officially come out and said that animation cancelling was not intended but they are not going to make any code changes to prevent it. A...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

3 strikes and you are out. Had you ever actually played the game, you would know there is no GCD, abilities do not have cooldowns, and the Hero engine was never part of the current game engine. You would also know that clipping animations is fully supported and pretty much required to be...

Fully agree with you both on nameplates. On a related note, I encountered a couple of people who had just killed a world boss that I missed out on tagging by a couple of seconds. We went our separate ways. I went to another world boss in the zone and it was up. I asked in guild chat if...

    Guild Wars 2

Gotta completely disagree about GW1. That game was built from the ground up for guild team vs guild team battleground style PVP. The PVE in GW1 was atrocious and the only reason to do it was to complete the quests that gave you new class skills. The expansions may have been more focused on PVE...

Can't answer that question without completely speculating. The details of the CP system won't be known until next week and even then you still won't know if it's worth the $15 until the B2P client is released.

I believe in the past you have said something along the lines of having fun in a MMO is largely influenced by who you are playing with. PVP gameplay is still pretty much the same so if you liked or disliked the PVP in Cyrodil I imagine your opinion on PVP now will still be the same. There...

Inventory management is still a big pain in the ass in this game. I can't imagine how annoying inventory management will be in the console version with the current UI in the PC version. The console UI will need to be completely redesigned IMO to make it more user friendly. I think your...

I assume because the PC version will need to have the new B2P pay model and cash shop in place and stable before the console version is released. Another assumption is that version 1.7 will include Cyrodil city PVP content as well as the final conversion from veteran rank to champion point...

What is wrong with the SWTOR model? I always maintained a monthly sub to SWTOR after it went F2P so I rarely even noticed it. I also never paid any extra money for Cartel coins. Only time I ever spent them was when Galaxtic Starfighter came out and some ships could be bought with cartel coins.

Good news as far as I'm concerned. My son wanted to play this on his Xbox but I wasn't going to let him buy it if a monthly subscription was required. With school and sports he doesn't play much on his Xbox anyways and when he does play he spends most of his time on CoD. TESO would be...
