    Tales of Maj'Eyal

I think I have more hours in tome than in all other roguelikes combined. I give it two thumbs up for the best of the genre. It has been a while since the last DLC, but it's not like it is an early-access game or anything, it's been fully complete since like 2010, and the base game has enough...

    Pathfinder: Kingmaker

I liked kingmaker, but wrath is just better in every way. The scope of it is just crazy - there really isn't anything else that works such epic high level stuff into the game I can think of. Worst part really is that it's just so long - there's plenty of paths I'd like to try but it's just too...

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

There's nothing really similar to Kensai, but you could give smite bard ( 2pal/10 sword bard) or eldritch knight a go for the swordy-caster-type. Are you playing honor mode ? Melee is not quite so dominant there due to the changes to haste and damage riders.

    Spring 2024 Anime Thread

I admit to not paying full attention, but I am also confused by dragon raja. Isn't their mission to wipe out the dragons ? But they are all part-dragon and can all be mind controlled just by recordings of the black dragon's voice ? I also can't help but feel I missed something at the start -...

He re-loads with armor piercing ammo while he's talking to the BoS guys. re- Assuming the color bands on the shells indicate ammo type, he presumably used all of his AP rounds before Maximus got there.

    Fallout

I mean, you saw vault 31, there are no cameras, no need for that to be theoretical. For not knowing what's going on in 32, there's supposed to be no traffic/communication between 33 and 32 outside their 3 yearly person swap. Bud is clearly an idiot given how quickly the kid hacks the...

Logically it would be whenever her Dad brought them back to the vault, that seems like an obvious enough source of contamination that it would be strange if it wasn't the cause.

    Shōgun

Yikes, there's bad bosses that don't give a fuck about you, and then there's Toranaga. Credit to the guy that basically gets ordered to open fire on the police and does it without hesitation.

Too early to tell. It's interesting enough that I will watch the next episode, but not enough that I am excited for it.

    Fallout

The rest of your complaints seem fair - this one though, I think you are misunderstanding. The exchange is essentially 'You, the uber-wealthy scientist/entrepreneur , are not a very good communist' 'I'm not a communist, that's just what the crazy people call anyone who doesn't agree with them'...

    Fallout

There's plenty of valid criticisms that can made of the show, but I don't think even the most rabid hater would say faithfulness to the source material is one of them. The show is just 100% fallout, arguably one of the most true-to-spirit video game adaptations ever done. Shit, it's probably...

    Fallout

This was great. Anticipation for a second season much higher than the first. The people whining about wokeness are embarrassing themselves.

    What are you playing?

I really should start another game of Dyson Sphere to check out the new combat stuff. So many games to play, so little time.

    Fallout - New Vegas

NV the only one to consider there. The writing and design are on an entirely different level to FO3/4. It's FO3, but better in every way. It also has some of the best mods of any game I have run across. FO4 has... better graphics I guess ?

    Sugar

It seems ok so far. SF-wise he seems to have an ridiculously implausible amount of money for a private detective and when the goons tossed his room they said he had a bunch of posters? for movies no-one had ever heard of. So there's presumably something going on there.

    Star Trek: Discovery

This has a bizarrely different tone from previous seasons, it's like Star Trek does National Treasure. Stellaris

I dunno that it would be a good deal, obviously better than buying all of the DLC unless you really got into Stellaris. Not buying any DLC at all unless you like the game and want more is still totally valid though ( and what I would recommend ), they actually aren't bad at rolling QoL...

    General Gaming News and Discussion

Windowed modes for a lot of games are also either non-existent or poor as well. Having a full monitor so the game can use 'full screen' with everything else on a different monitor has far fewer problems. Not to mention stuff like HDR which has to be on for the whole thing not just a window etc.

    Gen V

No need to be an idiot ( other than arguably being one for buying it in the first place ), they are dangerous enough without that. One of my friends is a paramedic, and she has *strong* opinions on the relative safety of motorcycles in general that are based on a lot of experience.

Mmm, tough one - the land has a weird progression where it starts bad, gets good, gets really good, then crashes and burns and has had nothing produced since. Maybe if you read all but the most recent book ? Depends on how you feel on unfinished stories. Other than that, PoA is the best of the...

Yeah, that annoyed me, but in fairness, that is par for the course with the MC using int as a dump stat  Highlight quotes from the episode include : "Oh wow, armor reduces how much you get hurt, maybe I should have equipped some earlier" "I really should have put some points into...

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

Yeah, I said early on that the person that set up the deal with Larian did amazing work, and if WotC had any sense they'd be sending over the blank cheque to keep Larian working for them. Apparently in the real world, that person gets fired for not squeezing hard enough and then they squeeze...

Trying To Remember a Dungeon Crawl Game From The Early Years

Do you remember if it had separate screens for moving around and for combat ? Secret of the silver blades had a lot of wandering around in snow fighting various giants, but it wasn't top down. Having both fire and hill giants suggests a D&D game though, although the 90s were pretty casual...

That's actually pretty high by steam standards, so kind of works to prove the opposite of your point. Take a look at some of your other games - Fallout4 only had 60% make it to level 5, New Vegas had some 40% reach level 10, Kingmaker had less than 50% ever establish a barony, Saints Row 3 only...

    X-Men '97

I'm pretty sure if mutants existed, that would actually happen, for entirely non-sinister reasons. The actuaries would have no idea what to set insurance premiums at, and the actual doctors would have zero idea about how mutant biology works - they are inherently unqualified to provide...

Yes, it's not Elven mana specifically though, it is just the way mana works for everyone. The 'fluctuations' are also called out specifically as a side effect of limiting your mana. It's not impossible that you'd also get them trying to do the opposite (if that were even possible), but...
