Well, it's part of Thanos' comic background (if for other reasons) so they squeezed it in. It's not perfect, but it makes for a nice cinematic ending. Does it hold up to "couldn't he just doubled all resources and slightly adjust birth rates for all species going forward"-levels of scrutiny? No...

Not very impressed. Tom Hardy is great and the final face-reveal is ok, I guess, but a lot of the random cgi tentacles shooting out of his clothes for a sec before disappearing again feels like CW or mid-tier Netflix quality at best.

I think Depp looks pretty good in the role, actually, and wasn't half bad in Black Mass and the Orient Express either. If he can move on from the Tim Burton/not-Jack Sparrow type characters and never look back, he could have a nice late career IMO.
