This. A million times this. Eat healthy, get some exercise, and use moderation in all things and you'll be fit as a fiddle. It's really fucking easy to be in decent health at a decent weight.

    The Beer Thread

I think it was me that recommended the Summer Shandy. I enjoyed it, but I can see not liking it because it really does taste more like bitter-ish lemonade than beer. (I think that's actually something I said about it on FoH). I have a pretty crazy sweet tooth so I've always liked the super...

    Dexter

I'm assuming she'll be back because she seems like the perfect quasi-villain for next season. Mainly, though, it's the fact that she left that plant at Dexter's door. Since Dexter hasn't found it yet that seems like the perfect bridge to connect the two seasons and it gives the writers a way to...

    The Hobbit

Ah yes, I was slightly misremembering it and confusing the Hobbit with LOTR. In that case, the inclusion of Radaghast was completely unnecessary and it makes it seem like even more of a "comedic fluff" addition.

That might work with crazy aged 18-22, but trying that with most mid-20s crazies could have terrible results. Even crazies have biological clocks tick, tick, ticking away.

    Dexter

I'm shocked at all the hate for the finale. It didn't have any more inconsistancies than any other episode this season. I liked it for two reasons: 1) LaGuerta is dead, and I have hated her for 8 long years. 2) Hannah is still around and she is a fantastic character. I really look forward to...

    The Hobbit

I think it was kind of neat how they briefly showed the spiders, but it was still completely unnecessary. It's been a long time since I read the book, but isn't Radaghast's only role that he meets Gandalf on the road by chance and mentions something about the White Council/Mirkwood? That's all...

    The Hobbit

I agree. He should have just had a passing encounter with Gandalf to introduce the existence of the necromancer. The additional scenes with him were completely unnecessary and really dragged the movie out a lot.

    Lord of the Rings Online

At this point LOTRO's combat has become similar to EQ2 in that it's clear that it has some major deficiencies, but for whatever reason it will/can never be fully fixed. No one should play LOTRO for the combat, anyway. The biggest reason to get into LOTRO is to explore Middle Earth. The world...

    Sad movie moments

The only movie moment that has ever made me tear up was at the end of "Life is Beautiful" when the kid sees the tank and runs towards his mom yelling "We won! We won!"

    Lord of the Rings Online

LOTRO has, in my opinion, one of the better F2P systems. You can create any race and all but 2 classes and you pretty much have free reign of everything up to the level 20ish zones. The beauty is that as you complete quests and work your way through the game you earn tokens that you can use to...

    Lord of the Rings Online

True. It's far better than it used to be, but compared to the fluidity of WoW it is VERY jarring and hard to get used to. I think the most fun I had during my 2 - 3 solid years in LOTRO was: 1) exploration. Its so cool to see all the places you've read about in the books 2) farming in the...

I still log on occasionally to check things out, but it works out to probably less than an hour a week. I love the atmosphere of the game and think Turbine did an amazing job realizing Middle Earth, but the gameplay is just so bland.

    The Hobbit

I liked it, although it did drag a bit. I think some stuff could have been cut down a bit, such as the whole warg/rabbit chase scene before Rivendell. That scene went on way longer than it should have. The thing I liked the most is that the dwarfs were NOT bumbling idiots like in the book...

    Weight Loss Thread

This is incredibly true and it's why you find so many more fat people in the suburbs. Without actively changing my diet or making an effort to exercise I lost about 30 pounds over 4 months when I moved from the suburbs to the center of a city (i.e no car, walking everywhere). It's cliche, but...

    Have you cheated?

An ex-girlfriend (not surprisingly, the crazy Russian chick for those from the old TGWBYH thread) considered looking at porn or even talking to another female as cheating. So yeah, the rules vary wildly from person to person. For me, any guy who persues a woman who he knows is in a...

I've become convinced that, unlike beer, scotch isn't something I'll ever be able to get accustomed to (at least in terms of sipping it neat. I can drink everything when it's mixed). I've been trying to force myself to enjoy it for years and have had some truly high quality stuff, but it all...

I'm surprised at how quickly they're progressing through the prohibition era. The show started at the beginning and after 3 seasons they're already in 1924, aren't they? Given the large amount of time between each season, that means season 4 will probably start sometime in 1925 or even 1926...

    Learning Programming on Your Own

The only thing I'd say to the OP and anyone else with similar aspirations is to keep your expectations realistic. Saying "I'm going to learn to program to start an indie game company" is like saying you're going to learn Russian to read War and Peace, or you're going to learn piano to play...

I've always liked Superman for the same reason I like the Hulk: he can kick major ass when he wants to. I guess that's why I've never really liked all the angst and backstory stuff they try to do with him. I just want to see a god-like being beat the crap out of another, evil god-like being.

To be fair, according to the RL Picture Thread in Screenshots, there are a lot of people on this site that aren't basement dwelling mongoloids. With a couple exceptions I doubt anyone who posted a picture in that thread would have a terribly hard time of getting at least an average chick. Of...

    Have you cheated?

I've never cheated and the very idea of it disgusts me. I'm an extremely trusting and trustworthy person, and I expect (rather foolishly in my experience) to have that reciprocated. I've never understood relationships which stay together after cheating. For me that is an instant relationship...
