One good thing about living in the country. 1600sq upstairs, 1600sqft finished downstairs. 5 bed, 2 bath, 3 1/2 acres to pee upon. Creek through the back yard. $128k.

I preferred canned myself. The home-growns get eaten 'as is'. There are some VERY good brands of Italian canned tomatoes as well. Highly recommend.

You would think, wouldn't you? Deli turkey is packed with sodium, too. The only way around it is cooking a whole turkey breast. Anyway, I think I'm going to do the lasagna cupcake thing with some changes. I'm going to make it spanikopita style with spinach, ricotta, Alfredo and lots of...

We are all different, man. I don't really care who you poke, I just like the stories. In marriage, you definitely give up some autonomy. That's not always a bad thing.

Marriage and the Power of Divorce

It's been interesting reading how guys would react, and I certainly know I wouldn't be a happy camper. The thing is, I was that other guy. My wife of 25 years was married when we met. She had been married just over a year, and was not very happy in her marriage, but she really didn't know...

Some awesome suggestions. My biggest problem with swedish meatballs is that I'd want to make them from scratch, and I'm not sure I want to dick with that. Boudin balls sound good though, too. Little smokies are good, but I need something I can eat. They are packed with sodium, and when...

I did a chicken satay thing for New Years that was kind of a bust. No one knew what it was. It's chicken on a stick for crying out loud. Beef might go over better though. I'm gonna read up on those lasagna cups. That sounds weird but good.

This. I cooked a butt roast this weekend low and slow and it was so damned good. I'm not familiar with the cut, but it was laced with tiny ribbons of fat. Made a great roast. Uhm, go Wendy's?

Alright, time to break the superbowl recipes out. I'm looking for something meaty, but non-chicken. There's always a ton of chicken at this party. I guess it really doesn't even need to be meaty, really. I'm leaning toward bacon-wrapped water chestnuts in a brown sugar/soy sauce.

It's a horrible idea from what I've seen. The bleacher seats have no wall enclosing them from the wind. This is St. Louis, not Tampa. The news is reporting that having a stadium plan in the works gives them leverage against the owner, whom by a clause in the by-laws, has to negotiate with...

Grocery store chickens are my latest pet peeve. They are fucking huge. The meat is stringier and tougher than a smaller bird, even if it is only 8 weeks old. Average chicken size here seems to be about 5-7 lbs or more, and I prefer 3.5 lbs or smaller, especially for frying chicken.

That's cool then. Those cuts are around $10 here right now, so I can see that price in Seattle. As far as knowing the farmer, that's a good idea, and the average of a 1/4 or 1/2 cow would drop your price some, I would think, even in Washington. I know there have to be cows there, but for the...
