What was "generic" about EQ lore? If you're judging the lore based on what was presented in the game then you have no clue what you're talking about.

I wouldn't want to go back to camping mobs because it's already been done, but you can probably recreate some of the magic by incorporating a lot of EQ's elements.

1. I'm not so sure they were going for a "stylized" look in the original Everquest. There were considerable graphical limitations at the time so that was about as realistic as graphics could get. Your frame of reference changes with the times so of course the game looks like shit now. However...
