    First World Problems

I got thirsty after dinner and knew i had a nice cold microbrew in the fridge. I also knew I'd have to wade through a bunch of different mustards and dressings to get to it. Decided it wasn't worth the effort and took a nap.

    Kickstarters

I'm pretty sure that I'm going to back Dungeon Universalis. Kinda spendy and I doubt I'll be able to play with my group. Hopefully I can get the kid to play. Project Elite and Deep madness look like a shelf space wasters.

    First World Problems

Today my wife used our good micro plane to clean up her heels. I feel like throwing it out. If i knowingly eat something that was made using that thing I'll throw up.

This seems exactly like the type of game I need to try out before buying.

I was so tempted by their first kickstarter but it was new and mostly I'd be playing it 2player plus it seemed fiddly. Is it worth getting retail at this point?

    Arkham Horror: LCG

My buddy and i played the first scenario of the card game. I t was ok but it is definitely one of those games that make you feel like you never really have a grasp off the rules. We lost during the third act.

I played King of Tokyo for the first time in a very long time, i forgot how good it is and how easy to teach. Will play again soon. It's also a nice break from complex games.

    Marvel's Iron Fist

I thought season 2 was so much better than season 1 it was almost mind boggling. It reminded me of season 1 of DD.

    Marvel's Luke Cage

I thought it stayed pretty boring all the way through. Too much drama. What does it say that you thought the Iron fist was a pick me up when he showed up.

The Cthulu one seems alright but after dropping too much on Massive Darkness and regretting it I'm passing on this one. That giant figure is madness.

You know you're getting old when.....

When your doctor tells you that you have cancer and you think to yourself, oh that's no big deal I've done this before. When you hear someone talk about their fear of death and you reply that you've died once and it wasn't big deal.

    Lost in Space

Yeah there are massive plot holes but overall it's a nice average series, just like the original. The parts that bother me the most are how dark the dark scenes are. Often i can't see shit. It's just bad cinematography. Scenes that drag on way too long seem common as well, blame the director...

Aeons end had been my recent go to as well. I still break out Xenoshyft and lately El Dorato which i really like. I've been looking for a Euro that i can tolerate. My buddy has terraforming mars and it's just ok for me. Honestly the theme is really they only thing i like. I've played a...

    I, Tonya (2017)

I finally decided to check this out. It told the story very well and in a fair fashion. Honestly a great movie with some amazing performances.

    Betrayal at Baldurs Gate

Betrayal worked add a great introduction to board games for my buddies boys. I'd bet they played it 70 times in a 6week period. Now to move on to something better.

    Kickstarters

. I did exactly the same thing. It's funny how easy it is after I backed massive darkness and feel a little burned by it. Luckily my son likes it so we are getting some use out of it. I wonder what dungeon calls are coming up in 2018? If I don't find anything I'll just get KDM and call it...

    Van Helsing

It's pretty bad. They all know that simply by biting vampires she can make them human and they know her blood does it as well yet they do nothing with that knowledge. Literally nothing. Obscure reference incoming... It is like watching idiots acting out the board game Dead of Winter. I'm...

    Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

"Spider-Man's superhuman strength varies depending on whose writing him. In most cases, it appears to range from 8-20 tons, with a bit of wiggle room for leverage, webbing assists and plot necessity. Granted, whenever Spider-Man fights most humans he must restrain his strength lest he harm...

My kickstarter for Fugitive finally arrived. It plays just how I expected, 10-15 minutes with two or three crucial moves each game. It's perfect for lunch at work and the wife likes it as well. I think the only game I'm still looking to get is Santorini and then I'm going to just play what I...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

I'm missing something in this discussion. We have determined that Neanderthals had language and the same generic markers for it as us. How is it we are putting such a limited window on language development, especially since we interbred.

I went out to eat at what is allegedly a top restaurant in the Mpls/St Paul area. It's expensive for the area, main dishes in the 30$ range. What are these main dishes... Fucking open faced sandwiches. How am I supposed to eat that shit. Cut it up? The only other alternative is to pick it...

I've ran through the first room of the first scenario a few times just to get the hang of the flow before I teach my group this weekend. It's very tactical and the balance is great. I'm really looking forward to a long campaign. I still need to figure out the organisation.

This week was spent not on gaming but on trying to figure out how to organize Gloomhaven. Holy crap is this box big and full. It really makes me wish that someone had a custom insert for sale already. I'm hoping to get the first games in tonight. I can already tell that the hype seems...

I never even tried Xenoshyft Onslaught but for some reason I kickstarted Dreadmire. After a few games I'm really glad I did. It's a fun little deck builder, now to figure out what to do with all of the extra crap (heroes etc) that comes with the Kickstarter.

    The OA

It has horrible character development but by the end of the second episode they at least make an attempt at it. The wife likes it so I think we'll finish the season. I think my main problem is that there aren't any relatable people.
