Why are you assuming that we think we're changing the world? Why can't we just be nerds who enjoy doing cool new stuff and found a way to monetize it?

With that 25k and a one-off partnership, UoA and other universities can just forgo all the govt funding they get! What percent of university grant funding do you think comes from private entities?

How do you think university research is funded?

Because Carter made the restrictions or because he made the stimulus? I was assuming the stimulus came from the Obama stimulus package.

Problem with privately funded researched is that it's not publicized. There's no giants to stand on if all the giants are locked in a cellar in a company's basement. This is actually a problem in my field of research (autonomous vehicles). All the best tech is owned by Google, Ford, Tesla etc...

Oh, and titan_atlas, this is why I asked my question. I know shit about neutronics. I've found someone who is an expert on neutronics who disagrees with a statement I made. Now I get a chance to learn instead of trying to argue from a standpoint of ignorance.

    We the People.

How is neutronics research funded? Who funds it and why?

    We the People.

No. If I make a point, I make a point, I don't ask a question. And my point will differ based on the answer to my question. It's important to have information before making statements, because otherwise you talk out of your ass about something you know nothing about.

Oh and for those of us who earn their money from research, saying "stop politicized research" is like saying, "Let's make a combustion engine without the heat"
  12. Tuco

    We the People.

The internet was politicized research. It is the greatest spreader of bullshit agendas every made, so your point is well taken.

Ok, that's fine. Difference between me and you is I'm not creating threads about how we can fix problems by creating a from-scratch government, and I don't want to insult you by giving you wikipedia links. My recommendation, go take a few political science and history courses at your local...

Oh, and I think western society should work to move society living on Austrailia off of Austrailia, and then deport low value citizens to Austrailia. It'd be like a global rickshaw.
  15. Tuco

    We the People.

    Because politicized research is valuable.

Then don't use the phrase separation of church and state when you want them physically joined. Before this thread gets any further, given how poorly this is going, what are your political credentials?

I don't know about creating the perfect government, but the one issue that nobody really talks about that would make me a single-issue voter is a dramatic increase in research. Let's min/max and rush tech, people.

The entirety of the lists implicitly thinks you're wrong about whether they should be a part of the community. From your posting history that should be motivation enough to write some 100,000 hand crafted arguments.

To reduce the number of emails. I can make another one that sends it to every poster with 9 or fewer posts, but I wanted to hit all the active members of the community before RR was shut down or I was locked out of my admin access.

Good point. They also have to be unique emails to avoid the spam filter. Probably.

We're planning on doing another email in the near future using a real email service and not whatever garbage Rerolled.org uses. Plus this one will be sent out to the 10MB of emails I have backed up from fohguild.org. There's a lot of garbage emails in there, so we're going to have hodj go...

Pokemans and how to catch them with your phone - friend codes in OP

Oh and a big problem they have is a massive conflict of interest. Their profit vehicles are all based on pokestops and lures, which is the most boring way to play game. The most fun way to play the game involves exploring new areas which they aren't yet monetizing.

Pokemans and how to catch them with your phone - friend codes in OP

They've said from the start they want to have sponsored locations. It makes total sense because I think those locations will generally be lured 24/7. You already have that with businesses luring themselves. The big question surrounding this "Niantic has a lot of power" is whether they can keep...

Ok, all the emails from RR have been sent out. I am curious if anyone who was registered there, had 10+ posts and had a valid email address did not get one. I am afraid that spam-filters got activated partially through the email blast.

Pokemans and how to catch them with your phone - friend codes in OP

I don't believe this to be true. Unless it's changed I believe that all pokemon spawn either because of lures, incense or static spawn locations. The static spawns correspond to XM Pools. I hope they allow their database to be used or licensed in some way for future MMARGs. The pokemon game...

Pokemans and how to catch them with your phone - friend codes in OP

This is correct and the dependence on XM pools is a big gap in the game. I expect that it's a surmountable gap for them, especially with the current revenue they have. If they can secure the data for it, a very simple thing to really improve the game would be to give a broad increase in pokemon...

There's a bunch of old guilds, LotD is one of the few that is still active (and PRX ofc). Few are older than UO/EQ, so this community is in that tier. But the top ranks in terms of age are always going to be the communities that started out with MUDs or neverwinter. Not many are around. I'd...

In terms of priority I can't argue. The question I have is whether, long term, this game will attempt to capitalize on the very profitable lure-hubs and sponsored pokestops. If so I don't really have much interest in it.
  38. Tuco

Pokemans and how to catch them with your phone - friend codes in OP

There's basically two valid complaints here: 1. The game would be better if it catered to exploring the "wilderness" outside of densely packed urban environments. 2. The game's original design demonstrated here: Is widely divergent, and better, from running a tight, dense circuit of pokestops...
