If you are going to start from scratch super casual on alliance I recommend sargeras and joining Currently Online. They have like 6 guilds all connected through an in game add on chat. There are always people doing stuff and you can easily scrub in to heroic raids on different teams.

People get an endorphin rush when they hear that ding. Right now it's every 15 minutes to 30 minutes depending on your level and how hard you are going. Making it every 5 hours would not work to keep people logged in on the addiction meter.
