    Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

they added a 1.1.0 beta branch, and will add an alpha branch or something later, not sure. https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/beta-branch-e1-1-0.412575/#post-9347243

    Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

I modded it, yeah. Whenever I pay off a lord it just gives me 10 days of reprieve from them, it doesn't make peace. The ransoming of companions is pretty broken btw. I held a defense against a siege at a city (while every other fucking lord scattered to the wind in the face of the 1200...

They're not a first-rate developer, that's not really a question. But you're presuming a lot about the coherency of the underlying systems and design on the basis that they've done almost no play-testing. There's no reason to expect they can't rework the game dramatically over the next yearish...

    Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

I think they patched something around ~1.0.5 that made vassals less likely to defect to factions they are at war with to stop faction depletion. The western empire isn't in too bad of shape lord wise. I think this is a bandaid fix because I'm pretty sure the reason the western empire is at war...

    Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

I think the fundamental problem with the skill system is that they DID consider how the skill system would hook into the rest of the game but did not consider how much fun it'd be. They clearly pursued an elder scrolls "you get better at what you use" system, which enables players to git gud at...

The structures for the game are there, they just don't work or aren't tuned. You're going to have to be a lot more specific about problems thatp layers are encountering and why a lack of gameplay structure is responsible.

    Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

So when I was ready to join a faction I picked the one that was getting beaten the worst, the Northern Empire, who was at war with the Khuzait and lost a few fiefs to them. After I brought them to parity I said goodbye, married the Khuzait princess and then leveled athletics by marching across...

All these hot fixes are wastes of time. The #1 thing this game needs is to pair this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/344?tab=posts&BH=0 With a lightsaber mod.

I dunno if it's related to swing hitboxes, but I also noticed that swinging a sword while mounted seemed a bit off. I've been playing almost the entire game with a menavlion I found pretty early on or a custom menavlion I built. 2h polearms that you can swing is currently OP, I can one shot...

Interesting problem: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/the-big-problem-with-combat-unit-collision-and-mass.409576/page-5#post-9335695 tldr: the collision boxes of the units are like 50% the size they should be, so masses of infanty/horses just kind of blend together and battles...

    Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

Pretty cool. I wish they had gone with creating a massively detailed world environment, reduced it's complexity for the world map and then each battle is centered exactly where you start the battle in. Taking advantage of terrain features is super fun and scaling that up to the campaign level...

    Everquest AMA Answered!

Niente: Your specific idea would be a lot of logistics and work, you might have more luck trying to convince Dreamweaver and/or Ngreth to do a player contest of some kind for an item name, or that type of thing. Ngreth: Baring legal issues, Item naming is much more feasible than item art.

Do you need to be the liege to make peace with a faction? I joined the northern empire to stop the khuzait from snowballing them, but now that they're recovered I want to make peace.

Would be interesting if the information was conveyed on the world map somehow. Where an event would filter out based on time like you said, and update the world map with the current state and some information on how out-dated the information was.

I've been spending a lot of time looking at the game's code. It's rare that a game is effectively open source like this where much of the game is built on .NET and they ship open binaries. The game, by default, lets you have 3 companions and gives you one more companion per clan rank. I...

    Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

I enjoy the combat a lot, there's just something endlessly fun about riding my horse around hitting fools that is unique in Mount and Blade. There's a lot of interesting possibilities with a sandbox game that is largely randomized, but that isn't realized in Bannerlord yet. The campaign system...

I forgot to mention: I like Pendor's crafting system much better. It's simpler, makes more sense from a lore perspective and is more integrated into the game's economy and less "the same crafting shit you've seen in every RPG ever". In Pendor you have a special class of knights (called orders I...

I think my map would look like this if I just rested and watched it. I joined the northern empire because it lost a couple cities to the Khuzait and was about to get steamrolled. I've been desperately trying to defend them and help turn the tide, but my bros in the northern empire get captured...

@Brikker So I went to check out crafting yesterday. What a mess. The crafting leveling is super slow, but the real grind is unlocking all the different components. It's like they hired some art guy to make faces and weapons, but he really just wanted to weapon like we all did at age 8. So he...

    Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

Probably not. I imagine it provides the only source of high quality gear, but right now the amount of effort that it takes to level it makes the time to payoff beyond what most people will ever see. Right now in the singleplayer game a faction will snowball and take over the entire world within...

Good news about most complaints is that, with a few exceptions, the game's framework and engine is solid. It's just the tuning on a lot of stuff is uhh, way off. It feels like they just barely got the framework in place and did almost no user-level testing of singleplayer before the early access.

    Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

Oh yeah I modded that too. Find/replace all in a text editor is easy. Of all the mods I made that's probably the most risky, who knows what kind of ramifications that has besides just putting more items on vendors.
