I dunno if that's true, I played the 1st ME after DA:O was already out. DA:O I played alongside everyone and was like "this is what people were excited about?!?". ME I played a few months after and I was like "Oh, I see why people liked this game."

ME isn't for everyone, but it's a so much better than Dragon Age just for the crafted setting alone. ME created an amazing world, DA:O replicated a generic fantasy one.
