DD1 was great until they released that mythic shit where unupgraded trash drops made stuff you grinded and upgraded your ass off for completely obsolete. It was worse than when WoW would release an expansion and made all your previous stuff junk.

I always played melee in other games too, PoE is the first game that was able to get me to go caster/bow. Give it a shot, I think the big difference is it's easier to make a tanky caster in PoE than in other games.

They should rebalance drops so that higher ilvl drops have higher % chance of rolling T1/T2 mods - PoE is way too skewed to crafting imo. Sodium Hypochlorite is bleach. It's possible but rare they'd have ammonia, unless someone broke procedure and brought in or ordered the wrong chemicals. More than likely they had a windex/glass cleaner deal which can be a few % ammonia. Bleach alone wouldn't kill anyone from fumes.
