    Barbie (2023)

It wasn't so much that, it was just that early internet had less wide spread access, so the types of people engaging on the internet tended to belong to specific niches. Early adopters, nerds, college kids. Stuff like AOL and later on more widely available regular ISPs as we recognize them...

I mean it is San Francisco Bay Area. That place can be cold as fuck even in the summer. They’re probably like the British where they never had to bother with AC until recently

    Dune: Part Two (2023)

Lots of stuff is like that. When I was a kid, I loved the police academy movies. My grandfather hated siting through them because he thought they were unfunny and stupid. I watch those movies now and realize he was right lol

    The Expanse: A Telltale Series

Show Drummer gets a bit more flexibility for what they can do since she is a mashup of Drummer and Pa from the books, so they can explore the belter/pirate aspect a lot more than they were able to in the show.

    Star Trek: Lower Decks

I know it was a joke episode, but it has probably been my favorite one of the entire series lol Boimler getting deeply unsettled by Spock showing emotion had me laughing hard

    Archeage

Hmm, that is quite the change. The cross ocean or super long continent runs used to be pretty lucrative (although risky). I was still pissed when they normalized the speed of sports cars. You used to be able to plan routes with lots of downhill parts to maximize your speed of the run.

    Invincible

It's a good origin story for Atom Eve and gives a hint of the fact she is an Omega level power in terms of superheroes in this universe. She is basically Dr. Manhattan/Molecule Man /w some intentionally designed limitations that prevent her from being the most powerful being in the universe...

Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Games

It has nothing to do with blue hairs/etc. It has to do with modern game design. A lot of modern RPGs in the PC/Console space have been moving away from race locked classes or limitations, or stat limitations, for decades now if the player actually makes the character from scratch vs. it being...

    Disney+ Streaming Service

You vastly over estimate the “culture boycott” impacts for Disney. It’s main impact is when they sacrifice story for message, which falls under mediocre product

    Cyberpunk 2077

No mods at all. I’m pretty sure it is something to do with overlays. Is there a way to completely disable steam overlay?

    Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

I haven’t seen this week’s yet, but last weeks was good I thought Edit: how was it garbage? It was a standard Trek plot line (mystery thing ends up being something else and crew solves it). The only questionable thing was Ohura giving the order to fire torpedoes, but was fine otherwise

    Who died? (Celebrity Deaths)

Steve’s way of describing shit always makes it sound like he is eating the most delicious stuff on the planet *eats an 80 year old cracker from WW2* “Wow, you can taste that wholesome, nutty whole wheat flavor. Barely processed, just a good, hearty, wholesome cracker” I also don’t smoke, but...

    Overwatch 2

Esports leagues really need to develop naturally. OWL had great initial success, but that was in part due to the fact OW was still very popular when it first launch and you gained coins for watching on twitch, which you could then use to buy skins in the game. It's no mystery that viewership...

    Disney+ Streaming Service

    Ashes of Creation

I disagree on the PVE part. P2W in PVE tends to design the core game elements to be frustrating and tedious unless you swipe. Let's take Archeage and the labor system. Labor would slowly regenerate over time and you needed it to do certain things in the game. If there was no p2w, then one...

Depending on how much fentanyl they mixed into that single pill, 1 is all it would need to be deadly. It doesn't take much for it to become a lethal dose. Quick googled image for reference. The dealers presumably aren't the suppliers. So long as dealers keep buying it, suppliers...

    The Astronomy Thread

You have to recall his frame of view is “what can be made on site on Mars?”. The whole reason Starship will be using the fuel it is using is because he wants to be able to produce fuel on Mars to make trips back much easier. If you don’t need to leave Earth with fuel for a return trip, that...

    Starfield - Fallout fallout that isn't ES6

Bugthesda is a known thing, although MIcrosoft is supposedly banking a lot on this title being a success and they no doubt want to avoid a Cyberpunk situation. I wouldn’t be shocked if they are pushing hard for a relatively big free launch, lest you get dudes on youtube hate farming your title...

    Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Like Spock said, Vulcans can be dicks. Like when Pike made that Vulcan food and T’Ping’s dad was like “this is delicious”, then her mom is like “they’re too fancy and he added some salt” and then he parrots her. It’s hard to read if they’re just being racist against humans or legitimately that...
