Because protein gives no benefit whatsoever beyond .8 grams per pound of lean body weight at most and that study was based on professional athletes. Over the short term excess consumption won't do any damage, unless you already have a liver or kidney issue. If that plans works, I'd say it has to...

Because protein has 4 calories per gram. If protein is making up 35% of your calories then you have to calculate that. 200 grams of protein is 800 calories. 750 grams of protein (the number you used incorrectly) would be 3,000 calories of protein. @Denaut: The dangers of eating too much...

    Weight Loss Thread

Wow... is that math wrong. Protein has 4 calories per gram. 2500*.35 is 875, divide by 4 is 218.75. So if you consume more than 218.75 grams of protein per day, you are (by your own numbers) at a serious risk level. You're consuming 200-300 grams per day. So, again, excess protein consumption...

So you're on a high carb, excess protein diet then. This is the kind of thing you should know, especially before recommending it to others. Your body is running on pure sugar that it breaks the protein down into because you aren't giving it enough normal carbs and unless you are eating a ton of...

Your body can break protein down into sugar via gluconeogensis, so if you are on a high protein diet with low carbs and aren't in ketosis from eating the correct amount of fat (at least twice as many grams of fat as protein for nutritional ketosis), you're actually on a high carb diet...

Feminism, or rather the ideal of equal rights between genders, is a philosophical concept dating back centuries and is inherent in any number of humanist belief systems. Voting rights in the U.S. were an issue as far back as 1756. Martha Washington tried to convince the founding fathers to give...

If it is in a blended drink like a shake, raw greens are broken down enough to digest, yes. I'm not factoring in taste. That is way to much protein Nate. Even the "recommended" amount on most bodybuilding websites, 1g per pound of lean body weight, is way to much. No study has ever found...

The Big Bad Console Thread - Sway your Station with an Xboner !

Just went and looked into it. $60 loss per console sold at release but they are expecting most initial purchases to break even overall at two games, an accessory, and a PS+ sub. Given past trends unless there is a price drop I'd expect them to start turning a profit on the hardware in a 7-12...

This isn't strictly true. The first console Nintendo sold at a loss was the GC and that only lasted a few months before cost of components and increase in efficiency of production started making it break even. The Wii, being almost identical to the GC hardware (seriously, emulators for the Wii...

Sounds like stretching from a 4:3 to a 16:9 aspect ratio (this was also an issue with several official PS1 > PSP ports). Nice thing about the community emulators is you can just play in 4:3 if you want to or you can use the much superior stretching/scaling that emulators have.

    Video Game Symphony

I went to the Zelda 25th anniversary symphony. Would highly recommend looking that up for ideas. Most deep franchises have enough music for a whole night in and of themselves, I feel like having "theme" nights would be more fun for people. So all FF one night. All Zelda one night. Maybe by game...

I'm not sure why anyone wants PS1 emulation. Smart phones have PSX emulators at this point, even with a built-in controller ghosted over the screen so you can use the touchscreen. Granted I have an HTPC, but it is built for low power use, not gaming, and even it can run everything a PSX...

Statistics vary pretty widely. 15 out of 100 is a pretty common. 1 in 4 girls, 1 in 6 boys experience sexual molestation by the time they are 18. The problem is in estimating precisely how under reported it is. At least 3 million by age 13 is a relatively safe bet. The issue, as you'll see if...

He isn't wrong though. When you have the same game on two different platforms, using the same exact same engine, art assets, textures, etc., the only difference in graphical quality is resolution.
