So, can anyone explain why the Mormons would've been totally cool with letting the Nauvoo be stolen? It would be different if the thing was sailing out of the solar system right now and unrecoverable.
You know a shit ton of cash would've went into that project and there is no way they would...
Inertia has nothing to do with gravity, right? I mean, I think they are equivalent but control of one doesn't necessarily mean the control of the other?
Yeah, it felt like a season premiere.
So, with that "inertial quick stop" as its been called, wouldn't the entire vessel go squish? Or, at least, be horribly damaged?
There was an interesting series on History Channel a while back named Life After People that discussed exactly this. What would happen to all the stuff we've created and built if humanity suddenly disappear from the planet? They would do increasing time scales and descirbe what things would be...
By the way, thanks for mentioning Channel Zero. I never heard of it. I watched the first episode of the first season and really enjoyed it. And I see it's been renewed for a fourth.
Designated Survivor started off pretty well in the ratings. I watched the first season but gradually lost interest.
I think a major problem with these broadcast shows is that there are way too many episodes. Having to create 20+ eps per season makes for a lot of filler shit. It gets old...
MY first computer was a Commodore VIC-20 with 3.5k of RAM. My poor parents had to upgrade me nearly every year for Christmas -- went from the VIC-20 to a C64, then C128, then Atari 520ST, then Amiga 500. I think it was '90 or '91 that my dad bought me a Packard Bell 386SX-20. After that I...
My theory, which I guess will never be confirmed or denied, is that all of what we've seen is in Tandy's head. The past 4 seasons have been nothing more than him playing pretend with those face-painted soccer balls. He truly is the last man on earth.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good office + gaming chair? I've been buying these piece of shit chairs from Sams Club that, while seem great at the store, end up destroying my back.
Price-wise I'm looking at around the $500 mark being fine. I've been eyeing the DXRacer chairs, but...
Kind of surprised they could catch up to the Nauvoo to turn it around. Since it's a generational starship that thing had to have been booking out of the solar system at a high velocity.
I thought it was a poigant moment as they looked around and saw the scenes from Earth murals.
Yeah we're doing exactly that. However, our test team is also writing tests that new up HttpClient to call the endpoints. My argument is that doing this is pointless and proves nothing (other than, yes, IIS is works).
Yeah I'm not suggesting (at all) that unit testing is good enough and not to bother with integration testing. What am I saying is don't waste your time doing loads of integration tests that test components of your system that you did not develop and have no control over.
But here is another...
I want to get y'alls opinion on an argument that's raging at work in regards to unit vs integration testing and what's valuable to test and what isn't.
I'm not sure I can explain this clearly without going into a lot of detail about how or application is constructed. But suffice to say, what...
I miss Clementine.
One thing I found interesting is that a bot being "dead" is mostly a programmed response to being shot, stabbed, etc. The human tech dude quickly revived whats-his-name via the control panel.
I enjoyed the special effects but overall I was kind of disappointed. Mostly because I wanted some additional time spent with Pablo and Kelly at the end. It kind of felt rushed.
Same here. Also, the characters are becoming unlikable. I have no sympathy for Dolores since she's gone on a murderous rampage. The show as it stands right now has no hero. I have a difficult time maintaining interest when there's no one to root for.
I was -8.5 in both eyes before I had LASIK done a few years ago. I've suffered from extreme dry eye ever since. I'm literally using artificial tears every 15 to 30 minutes on bad days. However, I just started a new eye drop medication named 'Xidra' which has helped tremendously.
