Probably. A lot of ways more "hardcore" could go. Personally I think it wouldn't be that hard for them to just add 2x or 1.5x damage to players/pets and something along those lines that made the gameplay significantly harder would be the only new server type rules I'd be interested in.

I feel like this version of Kenshi has the platform to do this kind of world conquest that Mount and Blade: Warband has, but is missing the supply lines + army generation from conquering towns.

One way to start is get a 5-10 man team equipped in basic gear, food and enough fighting ability to take on hungry bandits and those dog creatures. It's not trivial to achieve this.
