Just got back from a pokemon excursion. Am jogging with my toddler in a jogging stroller. I see a couple with one of these furballs near them: Notice it's not on a leash. Keep jogging and ignoring it. Thinking, "Please don't charge at me, please don't charge at me, please don't..." Dog...

What's fascinating is that from that post the game transmits the GPS location of all the pokemon near you, which is asinine and opens the game up to maphacking very easily. It's also surprising because when you're out collecting you can run to where you know the pokemon is, but it still takes...

On the city vs rural, I think they've missed the mark a bit with this. The traditional pokemon setup was much better. You'd enter town, refill, hit a gym, get a quest and then go explore an area. PoGo should attempt to be the same in the future. Enter town, load up on pokeballs, ask RL people...

What I'm saying is that some people cheating don't do that. I actually don't think it's that legitimate of a reason. People without city-life privilege shouldn't replace their game experience with a really subpar one. Instead they should wait until later. However, a_skeleton_03 and other...

I think this is too aggressive. People who cheat either by driving/gps spoofing are only really deserving of shame if: 1. They build up super tough pokemon via cheating then roll over gyms. 2. They're not enjoying it and quit the game when they might have enjoyed it otherwise. Personally...

I ran into a pidgeot that was so damn far I could barely hit it if I swiped my hardest. It's impossible to do a one handed swipe...

when you fight (aka train) at a same-team gym it levels up. When it levels up more people can put pokemon in it. So if you see a level 1 gym, just go train once and chuck a pokemon in it.

I wonder how they detect it. The ideas I had were: 1. Looking for ridiculous and obvious teleport behavior. 2. Look for suspicious looking GPS locations. You're right, they're not random. I don't know much about ingress but it seems driven by the XM Pool which is based on cell usage, no? I'm just saying that if they use user-feedback and tweak the locations around it might be better. Ex: It'd be better if the pokestop near me is in the park...

Up to you, but if you're trying to be efficient it's best to hit the soft cap of level 20, then save your stardust for high CP pokemon you catch. The CP of pokemon you catch is highly dependent on trainer level.
