K3 has a group exp bonus I believe, and has some aggressive dynamic respawn system that made AE groups faster than the traditional quest based leveling. Not sure about other differences.

Because it promises open world gameplay, no instances, no LFG tools, no raid finder, contested encounters, racing, challenging content, corpse runs etc. It's just an open world sand box with punishing gameplay. Idk what more I'd even want from an MMORPG.

I think the Karanas are actually a decent example of wide open areas with a few cool spots sprinkled in. On TLP servers these zones are largely empty and unused but during the heyday of live people were frequently kiting, exploring or camping various rare mobs rumored to inhabit the area. I...

I think original EQ had about 68 zones at launch, Kedge Keep, Solro Temple, Plane of Fear, Plane of Sky, Plane of Hate were all added piecemeal over the space of the following year before Kunark released. But yeah a lot of the zones were divided due to limitations, think Freeport (3 zones)...

Nothing beats the tried and true out of group Mage. Give them that level 50 DS and kill low health mobs to speed up the process. As a 24 Monk your options are more limited. Twinking is helpful but imo it's not even a real Twink without a Fungi.

Trying to zone into blackburrow as a Barbarian w/o a light source was a real struggle. I think a lot of those issues were actually because of our trash monitors and resolution back in the day. If you turn your resolution to the lowest setting in EQ even today it looks very similar.
